Miley Cyrus<\/strong><\/a> is reflecting on her past controversies with new clarity.<\/p>\n

The \u201cEasy Lover\u201d singer, 32, recalled being fired from the Hotel Transylvania<\/em><\/a> franchise when she was 18 after a photo emerged of her holding and licking a cake shaped like a penis to mark ex Liam Hemsworth<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s birthday.<\/p>\n

Cyrus said she was cast as the lead voice actress in the original Hotel Transylvania<\/em> film, released by Sony Pictures in 2012, but was dropped following the controversy. Selena Gomez<\/strong> ultimately landed the role of Mavis Dracula in the franchise.<\/p>\n

\u201cI, as a joke, got my boyfriend a penis cake for his birthday and I got fired. I was the lead actress in Hotel Transylvania<\/em> and they fired me and replaced me because I had made an inappropriate adult joke. But I was 18,\u201d Cyrus said on the Tuesday, June 10, episode of the \u201cReclaiming With Monica Lewinsky<\/strong>\u201d<\/a> podcast.<\/p>\n

Looking back, the former Disney Channel star said she didn\u2019t feel she did anything age-inappropriate.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat felt ridiculous to me about getting fired [over] a penis cake was that they sell penis cakes for all bachelorettes \u2026 in Nashville, Tennessee, you can get penis cakes. It\u2019s not that big of a deal,\u201d she explained. \u201cI thought this [was] a very simple, not vulgar joke \u2026 this is silly. You can do this for all bachelorette parties; they make necklaces and cups and straws and all kinds of stuff. It felt ridiculous.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTo be fired for regular things that girls my age, they go to bachelorette parties and they do this,\u201d Cyrus continued. \u201cThey go to Magic Mike<\/em><\/a> shows. But, at that time, I wasn\u2019t someone that was appropriate for kids, even though that was in my personal life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cyrus went on to say that the photo depicting her with the penis cake was a private one that was leaked after her backpack, including her camera, was stolen at a party.<\/p>\n

\u201c[It was] nothing I posted,\u201d she said. \u201cI was at a private event at a private party and I got robbed. It\u2019s not cool.\u201d<\/p>\n

Similarly, the singer said she lost a lucrative deal with Walmart as a teenager because a video emerged of her with a bong. \u201cI had to email the Walmart CEO and apologize for being 16 and smoking weed, which most 16-year-olds do,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
