Scooter Braun feels proud of Justin Bieber<\/p>\n
The 43-year-old record executive discovered the pop star back in 2008 and played an instrumental role in Justin’s success, before they ended their professional relationship in 2023.<\/p>\n
Speaking about his relationship with Justin and his family, Scooter said on ‘The Diary of a CEO’ podcast: “They put it on the line for me, too. They believed in a 25-year-old kid.<\/p>\n
“We were able to achieve some amazing things and I\u2019m very proud of what we achieved and always rooting for him.”<\/p>\n
Scooter’s relationship with Justin has changed now they no longer work together.<\/p>\n
\nBut Scooter can understand why the Love Yourself hitmaker wants to take control of his own career.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: “I think there comes a point where, I understand, he probably wants to go on and show that he can do it. We worked together for so long and we had such extreme success.<\/p>\n
\n“I think you get to a point as a man where you want to show the world, you can do it on your own. I completely respect that. I think at this point that\u2019s what he\u2019s doing.”<\/p>\n
\nScooter admits that the “writing was on the wall” well before their working relationship ended.<\/p>\n
\nHowever, Scooter doesn’t feel any bitterness towards Justin, 31.<\/p>\n
\nHe explained: “At that point it had been a couple years where I knew I wanted to do something else, and I wanted to find out who I was.<\/p>\n
\n“I wanted to experiment with, you know, a different career and we were both communicating enough with each other. The writing was on the wall.”<\/p>\n
\nScooter – who has also worked with the likes of Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato – announced his retirement from music management in 2024.<\/p>\n
\nHe said in a statement at the time: “I have been blessed to have had a Forrest Gump-like life while witnessing and taking part in the journeys of some of the most extraordinarily talented people the world has ever seen. <\/p>\n
\n“I\u2019m constantly pinching myself and asking, ‘How did I get here?’ And after 23 years this chapter as a music manager has come to an end.”<\/p>\n
