Hannah Waddingham suffers from ‘impostor syndrome’<\/p>\n
\nThe 50-year-old actress was an established name in theatre for decades before she shot to fame through her role in the Apple+ series Ted Lasso, but admitted that she is “absolutely not” a confident person at certain red carpet events.<\/p>\n
\nShe told The Sunday Times: “Cannes is a completely different beast. <\/p>\n
\n“Walking up plenty of stairs in the gown is a bit like, \u2018Don\u2019t be the w***** who falls!\u2019 That\u2019s a lot of pink taffeta up in the air…What I\u2019m saying is, people shouldn\u2019t think that I\u2019m endlessly confident because I\u2019m absolutely not. I\u2019m just good at styling it out.<\/p>\n
\n“I have massive impostor syndrome all the time.”<\/p>\n
\nThe Mission: Impossible star – who appeared in West End productions of musicals such as The Wizard of Oz and Into The Woods before she found success on screen – has an 10-year-old daughter from relationship that was the result of a natural conception after initially being told she wasn’t able to have children, and insisted that the little one is the “utter joy” in her life these days. <\/p>\n
\nShe said: “I was told I couldn\u2019t have children and then I went down the eastern medicine route, had my body balanced out.<\/p>\n
\n“Thank God she is the utter joy of my life because it is unyielding responsibility. I feel like more people should talk about how exhausting it is,\u201d she says, chuckling. \u201cNot only physically showing up for them but being the best version of yourself, because they respond to actions far more than words.” <\/p>\n
\nBut Hannah is currently single, and admitted that she is actually “quite picky” when it comes to choosing a partner because she just cannot bear to have someone pessimistic in her life. <\/p>\n
\nShe said: “I’m quite picky unless someone is sensational. <\/p>\n
\n“I can\u2019t have people in my life whose default setting is glass half empty. I just find it exhausting because I am absolutely the opposite.”<\/p>\n
