Want it in your inbox every Friday? <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/newsletters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Sign up here<\/em><\/a><em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From acquiring stealth startups to larger ones, and from funding Series A to Series G rounds, buyers and investors made for a busy news cycle.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-most-interesting-startup-stories-from-the-week\"><strong>Most interesting startup stories from the week<\/strong><\/h2>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><span class=\"wp-block-image__credits\"><strong>Image Credits:<\/strong>Paco Freire\/SOPA Images\/LightRocket via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This week must have seemed like the perfect time for companies to announce their latest startup acquisitions. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Unlocked: <\/strong>Israeli phone unlocking firm Cellebrite <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/06\/05\/phone-unlocking-firm-cellebrite-to-acquire-mobile-testing-startup-corellium-for-170m\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acquired mobile testing startup Corellium for $170 million<\/a> in cash, with $20 million converted to equity at closing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sought and found: <\/strong>IBM <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/06\/02\/ibm-acquires-data-analysis-startup-seek-ai-opens-ai-accelerator-in-nyc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acquired Seek AI<\/a>, an AI platform that lets users ask questions about enterprise data using natural language. Its technology is set to become a key part of Watsonx AI Labs, IBM\u2019s new NYC-based AI accelerator.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Data access: <\/strong>Data governance platform Collibra <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/06\/05\/collibra-acquires-data-access-startup-raito\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acquired Raito<\/a>, a startup that had raised $4 million to date to help companies manage which employees and customers have access to internal data. Both Collibra and Raito are based in Brussels.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Challenger: <\/strong>AMD <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/06\/04\/amd-takes-aim-at-nvidias-ai-hardware-dominance-with-brium-acquisition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">acquired Brium<\/a>, a stealth startup focusing on AI software optimization, in a deal that appears intended to challenge Nvidia\u2019s AI hardware dominance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Crunchy: <\/strong>Snowflake disclosed it <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/06\/02\/snowflake-to-acquire-database-startup-crunchy-data\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">plans to buy Crunchy Data<\/a>, a startup that helps companies build with Postgres. The cloud data platform company declined to comment on the deal\u2019s valuation, but a source estimated it at around $250 million.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>No more pesto: <\/strong>Data-labeling startup Scale AI <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/06\/02\/scale-ai-hires-team-behind-remote-developer-recruiting-platform-pesto-ai\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hired the team behind Pesto AI<\/a>, which is shutting down after raising more than $8 million to help companies recruit developers remotely.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Hmm<\/strong>: Airtime, the video startup from Evernote\u2019s founder Phil Libin, <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/06\/04\/its-layoff-season-at-phil-libins-airtime\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">laid off dozens of employees<\/a>, who won\u2019t be invited to stay for the next \u201cseason.\u201d The company, formerly known as mmhmm, raised nearly $135 million in venture funding across multiple early-stage rounds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ouch: <\/strong>Indian grocery startup KiranaPro confirmed that it was hacked last May. Sources said the company has surpassed $500 million in annual recurring revenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Brain chips:<\/strong> Neuralink, Elon Musk\u2019s brain computer interface startup, secured <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/06\/02\/elon-musks-neuralink-closes-a-650m-series-e\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a $650 million Series E<\/a>, reportedly at a pre-money valuation around $9 billion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Insured: <\/strong>Bolttech, a Singapore-based insurtech company specializing in embedded insurance, completed <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/06\/04\/singapore-based-insurtech-bolttech-closes-147m-series-c-at-a-2-1b-valuation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a $147 million Series C<\/a> at a $2.1 billion valuation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>APUs vs. GPUs: <\/strong>Speedata, an Israeli chip startup competing with Nvidia, <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/06\/03\/speedata-a-chip-startup-competing-with-nvidia-raises-a-44m-series-b\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">raised a $44 million Series B<\/a>. The company is developing an analytics processing unit (APU) to accelerate AI and data workloads, which it will showcase later this month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>From Ireland to Japan:<\/strong> Irish fintech startup Nomupay locked in <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/06\/03\/irish-fintech-startup-nomupay-lands-another-40m-at-a-290m-valuation-from-softbank-just-5-months-after-its-last-raise\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a $40 million Series C<\/a> from SB Payment Service (SBPS), a subsidiary of Japanese telco giant SoftBank Corp.
