Donald Trump<\/a> is like a breath of fresh air, because he\u2019s not a politician. That\u2019s it.<\/p>\n\u201cI don\u2019t like the man, I don\u2019t care about the man, but he might create something interesting that as of up to now business as usual in politics has not done. Bring a wrecking ball, by all means, to it.<\/p>\n
\u201cA couple of years ago I was asked what I thought of him and I said I thought he was The Sex Pistols of politics. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cThen I tried to take it back and then I thought, \u2018No, actually Johnny, that sounds f****** right.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nJohn also opened up about his support of the idea of UFC fighter Conor McGregor, 36, getting involved in politics.<\/p>\n
\nHe said when asked if he agreed with Conor\u2019s recent statement the era of the politician is over: \u201cI\u2019m in total agreement with Conor. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cHe\u2019s the kind of fella I could sit and talk to for hours because he tells it as he sees it, so there\u2019s no (messing around) with him.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHis remark comes after John admitted Conor is a \u201clittle on the violent side\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nThe \u2018Pretty Vacant\u2019 singer appeared on \u2018The Michael Anthony Show\u2019 where he discussed his political views, grieving after the loss of his beloved wife Nora and his rocky childhood.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking about the issue of illegal immigrants living in the UK and Ireland, he said: \u201cCome on Conor\u201d \u2013 referring to the Donald Trump-supporting fighter\u2019s rants on social media about Ireland\u2019s immigration laws. <\/p>\n
\nWhen host Michael asked him: \u201cAre you serious about the McGregor s***?,\u201d John replied: \u201cI believe what he\u2019s saying when he says, \u2018The time for politicians has ended\u2019.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThis is a nice slogan, but I\u2019m not quite sure I\u2019d like to follow him into the next situation, because he’s a little on the violent side.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe rocker is still grief-stricken over the loss of his wife Nora Foster, who died in April 2023 aged 80, five years after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.<\/p>\n
\nHe said about his last days with her: \u201cShe died so painfully. Gasping.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThey call it the death whistle.\u201d<\/p>\n
