In a surprising new interview, Walton Goggins<\/strong> <\/a>and Aimee Lou Wood<\/strong> addressed burning questions about their relationship \u2014 and what fans didn\u2019t see on The White Lotus<\/em><\/a> season 3.<\/p>\n

Goggins, 53, and Wood, 31, presented a united front during a joint interview with Variety<\/a><\/em> on Wednesday, June 4.\u201cThere is no feud. I adore, I love this woman madly, and she is so important to me,\u201d Goggins declared.<\/p>\n

The outlet noted that the actor got \u201cchoked up\u201d about Wood, adding, \u201cThis is Goldie Hawn. This is Meg Ryan. She can do anything, and she will. You watch what the next 20 years of her experience will be. I\u2019ll be on an island, I think Greece. But she\u2019s special. There is no feud. She is love and I know that I am that to her. We care about each other very deeply.\u201d<\/p>\n

Goggins and Wood won Us<\/em> over playing a fictional couple on season 3 of The White Lotus<\/em>. But despite their onscreen love story, speculation soon spread that they might be at odds off screens after their costar Jason Isaacs<\/strong>\u2019 hinted<\/a> at tension on set between unnamed costars.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tWalton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood became close friends before playing love interests on The White Lotus. The costars met on the season 3 set, after securing the roles of Rick and Chelsea, respectively. Despite the age gap between their characters, Goggins and Wood spoke fondly about the fictional couple\u2019s bond. \u201cI think that\u2019s such [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Around the same time, eagle-eyed social media users noticed that Goggins and Wood were no longer following each other on social media. The rumors got worse after Goggins shut down a question<\/a> during a May interview where he was asked about his friendship with Wood.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat am I gonna do, speak for both of us? Never,\u201d Goggins told Variety<\/em> about his curt response to The London Times<\/em>. He also claimed the reporter asked three different times about Wood and had a \u201cdivisive nature.\u201d<\/p>\n

Goggins specifically didn\u2019t like when the reporter allegedly compared his teeth to Wood\u2019s, saying, \u201cWhat he was insinuating, it was so disgusting. It was so appalling. I was flabbergasted. And I said, \u2018F**** mate, wow. I think we\u2019re done here.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

As for that Instagram unfollow?<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s such a comment on where we\u2019re at culturally. Why is everyone obsessing over Instagram? That is irrelevant. We don\u2019t give a s****about Instagram,\u201d Wood noted. \u201cWhy not have conversations about the story and Rick and Chelsea and enjoy it?\u201d<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the interview, the outlet noted that Goggins began to cry<\/a> while discussing his character Rick\u2019s journey with Chelsea, played by Wood.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy catharsis in this experience was different than other people\u2019s, because of my history in this place. I knew what we had gone through, and I knew how close that we had gotten, and I needed to begin to process saying goodbye to Rick and Chelsea,\u201d he recalled. \u201cAnd I knew that that was going to take a while for me, so I let her know, this is what I\u2019ve gotta do. And she was extremely supportive about that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Goggins admitted he \u201cneeded to just back away from everyone\u201d after filming wrapping, adding, \u201cI haven\u2019t spoken to anyone. I couldn\u2019t handle it. Judge me or don\u2019t. I don\u2019t give a f*** what you think. This is my process. Rick means everything to me, and Chelsea means everything to me. And so that\u2019s what I needed to do for me to process all of this.\u201d<\/p>\n

After answering the question, Goggins followed wood during the joint interview. \u201cIt\u2019s all so ridiculous,\u201d he replied. \u201cIt\u2019s just a part of me just saying goodbye to this character so that now Aimee and I will be friends for f***ing ever.\u201d<\/p>\n
