On the mend. Derek Hough<\/strong> <\/a>and fianc\u00e9e Hayley Erbert<\/strong><\/a> are recovering after being injured in a car crash<\/a> earlier this month.<\/p>\n \u201cOn December 12, Derek and I got into a pretty scary car accident in the mountains. Our accident involved a steep hill, icy roads, a tree, and worst of all, the fear that we would slide off the mountain,\u201d the\u00a0So You Think You Can Dance<\/a>\u00a0<\/i>alum, 28, captioned a Friday, December 23, Instagram<\/a> post. \u201cGiven the circumstances, we have so much to be grateful for. First, that there were no other people involved. Second, the quick response from paramedics.\u201d<\/p>\n Erbert \u2014 who has been linked to Hough, 37, since 2015<\/a> \u2014 noted that the twosome are \u201cboth OK.\u201d She wrote: \u201cI only walked away a little banged up, a swollen face, and four stitches above my eyebrow. Now, more than ever, we realize how fragile life is and how important it is to love those around you<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n The former\u00a0Dancing With the Stars<\/a>\u00a0<\/i>troupe member shared footage from the accident, including a hospital selfie<\/a> after getting stitches<\/a> in her forehead. Hough, for his part, was terrified to see his fianc\u00e9e in pain.<\/p>\n \u201cThe scariest part was that Hayley doesn\u2019t remember anything,\u201d the\u00a0DWTS\u00a0<\/i>judge<\/a> wrote via Instagram comment. \u201cShe was dazed afterwards, being cheerful saying we should keep going to dinner as blood ran down her face. That really scared me. She came to [sic] 20 minutes later when the firemen arrived.\u201d<\/p>\n Shortly after Hough and Erbert shared the news of their injuries, their dancing colleagues<\/a> shared prayers for a quick recovery.<\/p>\n \u201cOmg! Thank God you\u2019re both OK. Sending you love and a fast recovery. You\u2019ll be able to chew candy in no time\u00a0\ud83e\udd0d<\/span>,\u201d Cheryl Burke<\/strong><\/a> replied on Friday.<\/p>\n Lindsay Arnold<\/strong><\/a> added: \u201cSooo glad you guys are ok! Can\u2019t imagine how scary that was\u00a0\ud83d\ude22<\/span>.\u201d<\/p>\n As Hough and Erbert continue to recuperate from the incident, they are also gearing up to celebrate their first Christmas<\/a> as an engaged couple. The\u00a0World of Dance\u00a0<\/i>mentor proposed to his longtime love in June<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI just love calling her my fianc\u00e9e,\u201d he exclusively told\u00a0Us Weekly\u00a0<\/i>later that month<\/a>. \u201cI think that word now feels right to the way I feel and to my commitment to her and to our love and story and life together. \u2026 Hayley is The One.
