In a heart-wrenching revelation, Tom Daley<\/a> shares the devastating impact of being told to slim down by sports officials, which triggered his struggles with disordered eating.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year in March, the 31-year-old Olympic diving champion first disclosed his battles with \u201call kinds of different issues around body dysmorphia and bulimia\u201d throughout his competitive career.<\/p>\n

Now, in his latest documentary, he delves deeper into this painful chapter. Speaking in Tom Daley 1.6 Seconds<\/strong><\/em>, he says<\/a>: \u201cAt the end of 2011 I was told that I would have to lose weight by our performance director at British diving, and that I was overweight and that I needed to look slimmer, leaner and more like I did in 2008. It was the first time where I felt that I was being looked at and judged not for how I did in the diving pool, but for how I looked. I took then some quite drastic measures to make sure that the food did not stay in my stomach, let\u2019s put it that way.<\/p>\n
