Three former Doctor Odyssey<\/em> crew members are suing production company Disney over allegedly experiencing sexual harassment on set.<\/p>\n

\u200b\u200bCaroline Mack<\/strong>, Alicia Haverland<\/strong> and Ava Steinbrenner<\/strong> \u2014 who worked in Doctor Odyssey<\/em>\u2019s prop department\u2014 filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday, May 30, over accusations of sexual harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination and negligent hiring practices. The former Doctor Odyssey<\/em> employees have not specified the damages they are seeking, according to The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

In their lawsuit, the trio say that they endured an \u201cunchecked campaign of sexual harassment\u201d from their supervisor Tyler Patton<\/strong>, including unwanted touching and sexual remarks. Patton is not named as a defendant in the suit, with the former Doctor Odyssey<\/em> crewmembers instead suing Disney-owned production company 20th Century Television directly.<\/p>\n

Tyler served as an assistant prop master on Doctor Odyssey<\/em>\u2019s first season while his wife Tammie Patton<\/strong> was his direct supervisor. Among a litany of allegations in the lawsuit, Tyler\u2019s former subordinates say he made numerous sexual comments to female staffers, including telling one that \u201cno one had broke her\u201d yet. They also accuse him of touching female coworkers without consent \u2014 including grabbing women\u2019s butts and giving lingering hugs \u2014 as well as texting pornographic materials.<\/p>\n

One alleged incident relayed in the lawsuit involved Tyler texting a link to the prop department for a supposed news article about Joe Biden<\/strong> dropping out of the 2024 presidential race, only for the link to direct them to a picture of a naked man instead.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf I wasn\u2019t f***ing the boss, I\u2019d be fired,\u201d Tyler allegedly said.<\/p>\n

Mack insisted that she reported the alleged inappropriate workplace conduct and mishandling of replica firearms to the 20th Century human resources department and her union. Tyler was later fired, at which time the ex-Doctor Odyssey<\/em> crewmembers say they faced workplace retaliation from his wife Tammie and were eventually laid off. Mack, Haverland and Steinbrenner claim they have been effectively blackballed by the studio.<\/p>\n

\u201c[The studio] almost immediately hired a whole new set of employees to replace Plaintiffs and other Props Department employees for the Dr. Odyssey<\/em> Season 1 project,\u201d their complaint reads. \u201cClearly, no \u2018lay off\u2019 had occurred. Instead, Defendants wiped the Prop Department\u2019s slate clean to avoid having to deal with any remaining employee-relations issues tied to Tyler Patton\u2019s and Tammie Patton\u2019s misconduct.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former Doctor Odyssey<\/em> crew members are seeking a jury trial.<\/p>\n

Doctor Odyssey<\/em> premiered on ABC in September 2024, with Joshua Jackson<\/strong><\/a> playing a veteran doctor who often finds himself involved in bizarre medical mysteries as a cruise ship\u2019s chief physician. The show has yet to be renewed<\/a> for a second season\u2014 though Disney Television Group president Craig Erwich<\/strong> told Deadline<\/em><\/a> on May 13 that talks with Doctor Odyssey<\/em> cocreator Ryan Murphy<\/strong> were ongoing,<\/p>\n

\u201cDoctor Odyssey<\/em> isn\u2019t currently on our schedule [for the fall],\u201d Erwich confirmed. \u201cRyan\u2019s really busy. He\u2019s doing a lot with us. 9-1-1<\/em>, 9-1-1 Nashville<\/em>, All\u2019s Fair<\/em> [for streamer Hulu]. So we\u2019re just continuing that creative conversations with him.\u201d<\/p>\n
