Opening up. <\/span>Bindi Irwin<\/b><\/a> shared details about her secret 10-year battle with endometriosis that led her to undergo life-changing surgery. In an Instagram post shared on March 7, the wildlife conservationist revealed she suffered \u201cinsurmountable fatigue, pain and nausea\u201d amid her health battle. <\/span>Scroll below for more details on her condition and recovery.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

What Happened to Bindi Irwin?\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

\u201cI battled for a long time wondering if I should share this journey with you in such a public space,\u201d Bindi\u2019s Instagram post began. \u201cIt came down to the responsibility I feel to share my story for other women who need help.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Dancing With the Stars<\/span><\/i><\/a> winner continued on to say that she tried to \u201cremain a positive person\u201d and \u201chide the pain\u201d during her long health journey. Over the past decade, Bindi has attended a number of doctor\u2019s appointments and gotten body scans and tests done before she finally got the answers she sought about her pain.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI decided to undergo surgery for endometriosis\u201d she penned. \u201cGoing in for surgery was scary but I knew I couldn\u2019t live like I was. Every part of my life was getting torn apart because of the pain. To cut a long story short, they found 37 lesions, some very deep and difficult to remove and a chocolate cyst.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

She thanked her family and friends who have been a huge support system amid her health battle for the past 10 years.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTHANK YOU, for encouraging me to find answers when I thought I\u2019d never climb out,\u201d the Australian TV personality wrote. \u201cThank you to the doctors and nurses who believed my pain. I\u2019m on the road to recovery and the gratitude I feel is overwhelming.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How Is Bindi Irwin Recovering From Endometriosis Surgery?<\/h2>\n
The wildlife advocate gave fans an update on March 14, sharing an Instagram photo<\/a> in bed while holding a bouquet of red roses.<\/div>\n

\u201cHealing,\u201d Bindi began in the caption. \u201cI have spent the week reading your kind words and stories of strength through your own experiences with endometriosis. Thank you with all my heart for sharing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI can finally see a new me on the journey towards better health. I can\u2019t wait to be able to focus all my energy on our family and the conservation work we are so passionate about. Sending my love and light your way,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Offering an update in May, Bindi told\u00a0E! News<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>that she feels as though she\u2019s been \u201cgiven a second chance at life.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think you realize how much chronic pain you\u2019re in until that\u2019s lifted from you,\u201d she explained. \u201cThere are times when it was excruciating and then times when it was a constant battle.\u201d<\/p>\n

The wildlife conservationist went on to shout out her family, who have been by her side throughout her healing journey.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey are the reason that I am standing here and not in bed,\u201d Bindi detailed. \u201cI hope that people that hear about this story will be encouraged to fight for their own health.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Does Bindi Irwin Have Children?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Bindi and her husband,<\/span> Chandler Powell<\/b>, have one child together, daughter Grace Warrior Irwin Powell<\/a>, whom they welcomed in March 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/b>I had been pouring every ounce of the energy I had left into our daughter and family,\u201d she reflected on the reason why she often canceled plans in the past or ignored messages.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The post finished off with a strong sentiment about facing stigmas regarding endometriosis pain. Bindi urged her followers who might be going through the same thing to \u201ckeep searching for answers.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThings may look fine on the outside looking in through the window of someone\u2019s life, however, that is not always the case,\u201d she said. \u201cPlease be gentle and pause before asking me (or any woman) when we\u2019ll be having more children. After all that my body has gone through, I feel tremendously grateful that we have our gorgeous daughter. She feels like our family\u2019s miracle.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
