Miley Cyrus<\/a><\/strong> has nothing to prove, but when has that ever stopped her?<\/p>\n The chameleonic pop star is back with her most daring album yet, Something Beautiful<\/em> (out now<\/a> on Columbia Records). It\u2019s more bodacious than Bangerz<\/em><\/a> and, at times, even wackier than Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz<\/em>, which is a feat in itself.<\/p>\n But the singer, 32, doesn\u2019t go balls to the wall just for kicks; she has an innate instinct to challenge herself, to keep her fans on their toes and to celebrate the legends who paved the way.<\/p>\n This time around, Cyrus takes it back to the late \u201970s and early \u201980s<\/a>, reinventing a timeless era defined by glittering Europop and operatic psychedelia. She goes full ABBA on \u201cEnd of the World,\u201d a luxe earworm that would be the song of the summer had Lady Gaga<\/a><\/strong> not packed Mayhem<\/a><\/em> with viable candidates, and makes disco dynamo Donna Summer<\/a><\/strong> proud with \u201cEvery Girl You\u2019ve Ever Loved,\u201d on which supermodel Naomi Campbell<\/a><\/strong> delivers a delicious spoken cameo that recalls Madonna<\/a><\/strong>\u2018s \u201cVogue.\u201d<\/p>\n Not all of Something Beautiful<\/em> is radio-friendly, though \u2014 not that Cyrus, the hitmaker behind \u201cFlowers,\u201d \u201cWrecking Ball,\u201d \u201cParty in the U.S.A.\u201d and so many other global smashes, needs to cater to anyone at this point in her career. (Plus, who still listens to the radio in 2025?)<\/p>\n The title track starts as a slinky, soulful ballad before exploding into its experimental rock chorus with deafening and distorted vocals.
