The 76-year-old rock icon is set to reunite with Black Sabbath on 5 July in Birmingham for the \u2018Back to the Beginning\u2019 concert, which is set to be his final show after he was struck by a series of health issues, and he has now admitted the impact of preparing for the gig.<\/p>\n
He told the \u2018Ozzy Speaks\u2019 podcast on SiriusXM: \u201cAll I can say is I\u2019m giving 120 percent. If my God wants me to do the show, I\u2019ll do it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The performance at Villa Park marks Ozzy\u2019s first live appearance since 2018 and follows a series of health setbacks, including his 2020 public disclosure of a Parkinson\u2019s disease diagnosis. <\/p>\n
He added on his podcast about the mental toll of preparing to return to the stage: \u201cMy head\u2019s crazy. ADHD \u2013 I have that badly. I will have done the show and died a death before I even started my exercises.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cSo I try and put it on the back burner. I\u2019m not going up there saying, \u2018It\u2019s going to be great. I\u2019m really confident.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
\nOzzy recalled a specific instance of intense fear before a previous show, saying: \u201cI remember being in fing Vegas one time being in the dressing room going, \u2018I\u2019m going to play. I\u2019m going to die\u2019. <\/p>\n
\nAnd I talked myself into blowing the gig. It was only two f-ing songs.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nReferring to his wife, he added: \u201cSharon goes, \u2018Just don\u2019t think about it.\u2019 I obsess about a f-ing bird c******* on my show.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHis wife, Sharon Osbourne, 71, has spoken candidly about his condition. <\/p>\n
\nSpeaking to The Sun, she said: \u201cHe\u2019s very happy to be coming back and very emotional about this. Parkinson\u2019s is a progressive disease\u2026 it\u2019s affected his legs. But his voice is as good as it\u2019s ever been.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nOzzy\u2019s preparation for the show includes rigorous training. <\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cI have got this trainer guy who helps people get back to normal. It\u2019s hard going, but he\u2019s convinced that he can pull it off for me. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cI am having my blood pressure taken 15 times a day. I\u2019ve got this f***ing device on my finger. It\u2019s a monitor to say how my heart rate is.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nOzzy also admitted he is still uncertain whether he will perform standing up or seated, following multiple spinal surgeries related to a 2003 quad bike accident at his Buckinghamshire home. <\/p>\n
\nA fall in 2019 displaced metal rods inserted into his back from the crash, which he said has caused more complications than Parkinson\u2019s itself.<\/p>\n
\nOzzy was diagnosed with a mild form of Parkinson\u2019s in 2003 and delayed going public with his news until 2020.<\/p>\n
