The 38-year-old actor, who rose to fame in films including \u2018Freaky Friday\u2019 and \u2018Mean Girls\u2019, spoke about motherhood and the possibility of expanding her family in a new interview for Elle\u2019s summer cover story.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018He needs a friend,\u2019\u201d she said of her 10-month-old son Luai, whom she shares with her husband, Bader Shammas.<\/p>\n
Lindsay welcomed Luai in 2023 and said she is now considering having a second child. <\/p>\n
\u201cI feel like we live in a different world now, where women make it such a point, especially in motherhood, to make time for ourselves,\u201d she added. <\/p>\n
\nLindsay also said: \u201cWe make it important. But also, once you have one kid, you\u2019re like, \u2018Oh, my kid needs a kid to play with.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
\nShe added: \u201cThere\u2019s nothing like that. Also, I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s selfish \u2013 but I\u2019m like, \u2018I need more than one kid to take care of me when I\u2019m older.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe actress, who has three siblings herself, said she finds joy in watching her son grow and learning to balance motherhood with her career. <\/p>\n
\nLindsay and Bader, 37, tied the knot in 2022, and have largely kept their relationship private.<\/p>\n
\nSince becoming a mother, Lindsay has spoken candidly about the challenges and triumphs of postpartum life. <\/p>\n
\nSharing a mirror selfie on Instagram following Luai\u2019s birth, she wrote online: \u201cI am so proud of what this body was able to accomplish during these months of pregnancy and now, recovery. Having a baby is the greatest joy in the world!\u201d<\/p>\n
\nIn a nod to one of her most quoted film roles, she added: \u201cI\u2019m not a regular mom, I\u2019m a postpartum mom.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nDuring a November 2024 appearance on Today with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager, Lindsay described her new daily routine. She said: \u201cI have this thing. Since my son was born, I take a picture of him every single morning the second he wakes up. And I like can\u2019t miss it, so I need to be on his schedule.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nLindsay, who recently returned to screen work, is next due to appear in a new project currently in development, although details remain under wraps.<\/p>\n
