One song he penned \u2014 \u201cReal American\u201d \u2014 would go on to serve as Hulk Hogan\u2019s official theme song.<\/p>\n<p>News of Derringer\u2019s death made him an instant trending topic on social media as fans and friends rushed to pay tribute.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRest in Peace my friend. It was an honor to know you, work with you and call you a friend,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JBONAMASSA\/status\/1927401000731574469\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote famed guitarist Joe Bonamassa<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom classic rock to Weird Al, Hulk Hogan, and Ringo Starr, he left his mark across generations of music.
