Jersey Shore<\/span><\/i><\/a> star <\/span>Nicole \u201cSnooki\u201d Polizzi<\/b><\/a> reveals how looking for her birth parents helped her <\/span> \u201cI feel like we can relate to that in some way,\u201d Nicole, 37, tells Life & Style<\/em> about Angelina, 38, while promoting season 8 of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation<\/em>. \u201cWe definitely had our ups and downs and I feel like now we\u2019re at a good place to where if we do have drama with each other, we know to just, like, nip it in the bud.\u201d<\/p>\n While fans previously saw Angelina look for her birth father<\/span><\/a> during past seasons, Nicole \u2013 who was adopted \u2013 will be <\/span>searching for her birth parents<\/span><\/a> during the upcoming season of the MTV show.<\/p>\n Angelina has previously had issues with Nicole and other costars in the past, though she says that she believes \u201cAngelina knows we don\u2019t wanna have problems with her.\u201d Nicole continues, \u201cWe don\u2019t want drama. We just wanna have a good relationship. So I feel like we\u2019re on a good page right now.\u201d<\/p>\n Not only did Nicole share an update about where she stands with Angelina<\/a>, but she also reveals to Life & Style<\/em> why she wanted to learn more about her birth parents.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel like everyone knows I was adopted. So, I never thought that I would wanna, like, reach out or, like, find my birth family or anything. But then I saw Angelina do it. Trying to find her birth dad and everything that happened with her,\u201d Nicole explains. \u201cI was like, \u2018Oh, this is cool.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Nicole says that Angelina\u2019s journey to meet her birth family \u201csparked [her] interest to just reach out\u201d to investigative genealogist Pamela Slaton<\/strong>, whom Angelina previously worked with, to see if she could help her.<\/p>\n \u201cBut I only wanted to, like, see pictures of what they look like. Like, what does my birth mom look like? Do I have any siblings? Because I always wanted siblings,\u201d Nicole continues. \u201cI was like \u2026 I just wanna see, like, what everybody looks like. And then it turned to, \u2018OK, maybe let\u2019s reach out.\u2019 Like do a text and say like, \u2018Hey, like, thank you for giving me life. I have a great life.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n After Nicole opened up communication with her birth family, she said it snowballed \u201cinto things that [she] wasn\u2019t ready for.\u201d<\/p>\n Nicole Polizzi, Angelina Pivarnick<\/p>\n <\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n Nicole adds that she leaned on costar Jenni \u201cJWoww\u201d Farley<\/strong> during her journey to meet her birth family because her mom was adopted.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was just a lot of things that I didn\u2019t know that I was gonna do and I did,\u201d Nicole says of the experience. \u201cAnd I\u2019m still going there.\u201d<\/p>\n Jenni, 40, adds that the experience was \u201cvery natural\u201d for Nicole, noting that the show didn\u2019t force her to find her birth parents.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was very natural. It was beautiful,\u201d Nicole agrees. \u201cI was just like, \u2018All right, let\u2019s try it out.\u2019 But yeah, it\u2019s crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n When it came to her parents\u2019 reaction to her searching for her biological family, Nicole insists they were supportive from the very beginning.<\/p>\n \u201cThey always supported me. I just feel like me as a parent now and thinking of adopting a child and then they wanna figure out, you know, where they came from. I know exactly how my mom would feel and my dad,\u201d Nicole shares. \u201cBut also, they wanna protect me.\u201d<\/p>\n
