Jim Gaffigan<\/strong> doesn\u2019t want any credit for his 50-lb weight loss \u2014 no, seriously.<\/p>\n

While speaking to Today<\/em> hosts Jenna Bush Hager<\/strong> and Justin Sylvester<\/strong> on Monday, May 26, Gaffigan explained he lost the weight because \u201cI was brave enough to stick a needle in my stomach.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gaffigan has been on a drastic weight loss journey with the help of the popular drug, Mounjaro. The drug is the brand name for tirzepatide, a prescription drug that is used to treat type 2 diabetes and that is also used for weight loss or weight management (ideally under the supervision of a licensed medical professional).<\/p>\n

\u201cI did appetite suppressants, so it\u2019s not like I can even take any pride in it,\u201d he also said of his weight loss methods. The comedian, who weighed 270 lbs before embarking on his weight loss journey, added that \u201cit\u2019s great because my knees don\u2019t hurt standing up. I\u2019m less exhausted \u2026 It\u2019s always good, you know, like the health benefits, like, \u2018I\u2019ll live longer.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tWhile Jim Gaffigan is proud of his weight loss journey, he can\u2019t help but hold on to some of his \u201cfat clothes\u201d from the past. \u201cMaybe I\u2019m a pack rat, but I\u2019m like, \u2018I can\u2019t get rid of that,\u2019\u201d Gaffigan, 58, shared in an interview with Men\u2019s Health published on Tuesday, November 19. \u201cAnd then [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cBut I love it just because I feel better,\u201d he added. \u201cIt is great. It\u2019s beneficial.\u201d<\/p>\n

The comic spoke exclusively to Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> about his journey with Mounjaro in November 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was so paranoid that I was going to be nauseous that I kind of put it off, but then it kind of worked,\u201d he explained at the time.. \u201cIt\u2019s weird because we live in this society where people who eat too much are told that they just don\u2019t have any self control. \u2026 There are people that just have no \u2018off\u2019 button to eat, right?\u201d<\/p>\n
