Adriano Cardinali<\/strong>, the husband of late boxer Georgia O\u2019Connor<\/strong>, is prioritizing his mental and physical health after her death.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWorking on three things right now. My life. My peace. My muscles,\u201d Cardinali shared via his Instagram Story<\/a> on Monday, May 26.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The post came four days after O\u2019Connor\u2019s death was announced on Thursday, May 22<\/a>, just two weeks after O\u2019Connor, 25, and Cardinali tied the knot.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are heartbroken by the passing of Georgia O\u2019Connor,\u201d pro boxing promoter Boxxer said in a statement to The Guardian<\/i>. \u201cA true warrior inside and outside the ring, the boxing community has lost a talented, courageous and determined young woman far too soon.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tWhen British pro boxer Georgia O\u2019Connor died at age 25, she was less than two weeks removed from marrying her longtime partner Adriano Cardinali. Cardinali was by O\u2019Connor\u2019s side throughout her battle with an undisclosed type of cancer, which doctors formally diagnosed earlier this year. Though not much is known about Cardinali\u2019s private life, O\u2019Connor [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The statement continued, \u201cGeorgia was loved, respected and admired by her friends here at Boxxer. Our thoughts are with her loved ones at this difficult time.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In January, O\u2019Connor revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer after doctors allegedly ignored her symptoms for months.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFor 17 weeks since the start of October, I\u2019ve been in constant pain, going back and forth between Durham and Newcastle RVI A&E knowing deep down something was seriously wrong,\u201d O\u2019Connor wrote via Instagram on January 31. \u201cI said from the start I felt it was cancer. I KNEW the risks. I have colitis and PSC, two diseases that dramatically increase the chances of getting it. I KNOW how high my risk is and they do too. They always did.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cBut not one doctor f***ing listened to me. Not one doctor took me seriously. Not one doctor did the scans or blood tests I begged for whilst crying on the floor in agony. Instead, they dismissed me. They gaslit me, told me it was nothing, made me feel like I was overreacting. They refused to scan me. They refused to investigate. They REFUSED to listen. One even told me that it\u2019s \u2018all in my head.\u2019 And now? Now the cancer has spread.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

O\u2019Connor and Cardinali, who quit his job to help care for O\u2019Connor after her diagnosis, got married on May 9, which O\u2019Connor shared via Instagram<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe day I married the love of my life. \ud83e\udd0d,\u201d O\u2019Connor wrote alongside a photo of the couples\u2019 hands wearing their wedding rings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
