Chrissy Teigen<\/strong> <\/a>has revealed why she was in hospital after she concerned fans by appearing on an Instagram Live with a bandaged-up face.<\/p>\n

Posting to her Instagram Story<\/a> on Friday, May 23, Teigen, 39, shed light on why she was in a hospital bed, bandaged up and with what appeared to be a swollen face.<\/p>\n

\u201cHi friends! A lot of you worried about my hospital pic which is very understandable as I gave no explanation lol,\u201d she wrote via her social media post.<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cI had a hairline lowering procedure. Lost a lot in the front from babies and it\u2019s just very thin up there. When you see it on a carpet, it\u2019s ALWAYS extensions.\u201d<\/p>\n

In an Instagram Live uploaded via her account on Thursday, May 22, Teigen, 39, could be seen with bandages around her head and a swollen face while resting on what looked like a hospital bed. While it\u2019s unclear what type of procedure she may [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In the post, Teigen had zoomed in on her hairline to show part of the procedure.<\/p>\n

Teigen promised to further elaborate on the experience in future.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnyhow I\u2019ll share more later if you\u2019re interested in the journey because it really is a journey,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

The explanation comes just one day after the former Sports Illustrated<\/em> model left fans scratching their heads when she appeared on Instagram Live with bandages around her head.<\/a><\/p>\n

Given the reason she was in hospital was unclear at that point, fans watching on were worried about the star and expressed their concern.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou okay?\u201d one follower asked, while another commented, \u201cSurgery face, oh girl.\u201d<\/p>\n

Teigen has been candid in the past about her cosmetic surgeries and procedures.<\/p>\n

In 2021, the cookbook author revealed via her Instagram Story that she had undergone \u201cfat removal\u201d surgery on her face.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did that Dr. Diamond buccal fat removal thing<\/a> here,\u201d Teigen explained via her Instagram Story, pointing to her cheek. \u201cAnd since I quit drinking, I\u2019m really seeing the results, and I like it. Yeah, I did it, what?\u201d<\/p>\n

Teigen captioned the video, \u201cNo shame in my dr diamond game.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking to Glamour UK<\/em> in March 2020, Teigen also shared details of why she opted for a breast augmentation surgery<\/a> when she was about 20 years old.<\/p>\n
