The 43-year-old singer, best known for hits including \u2018Toxic\u2019 and \u2018Gimme More\u2019, spent the night of 7 September 2007 at Jet nightclub in Las Vegas alongside Combs, 55, according to images recently shared online \u2013\u00a0with the pair later joined by Paris Hilton<\/a> and 50 Cent at a second bash hosted at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.<\/p>\n

The events of that night have resurfaced and were reported by Page Six after 38-year-old singer Cassie Ventura mentioned Britney during Combs\u2019 ongoing federal sex-trafficking trial \u2013\u00a0where he is accused of federal charges including sex trafficking and racketeering. <\/p>\n

Cassie has testified her relationship with Combs \u201csort of\u201d began in Las Vegas during her 21st birthday celebrations in 2007.<\/p>\n

She told the court: \u201cSean was there, and he brought Dallas Austin, Britney Spears<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\n\u201cI think those were the two people that stand out to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nBritney\u2019s appearance at the 2007 MTV VMAs on 9 September \u2014 two days after the party \u2014 was intended to mark her professional comeback, but the performance has became an infamous shambles and was met with huge criticism. <\/p>\n

\nShe took the stage to perform \u2018Gimme More\u2019, but her lack of energy and poor lip-syncing drew widespread backlash from media and fans alike.<\/p>\n

\nIn her 2023 memoir \u2018The Woman in Me\u2019, Britney wrote about the pressures she faced before going on stage. <\/p>\n

\n\u201cThere was a problem with my costume and with my hair extensions,\u201d she said \u2013\u00a0adding: \u201cI hadn\u2019t slept the night before. I was dizzy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nBritney also recalled seeing her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake \u2013 who she dated between 1999 and 2002 \u2013 backstage just before the performance.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cIt had been a while since I\u2019d seen him,\u201d she wrote, adding: \u201cI couldn\u2019t believe I was going to have to go out onstage feeling the way I felt.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nAt the time, Britney was undergoing intense public scrutiny following her divorce from Kevin Federline and a string of highly publicised personal struggles, including an incident in which she shaved her head.<\/p>\n

\nCombs has denied all charges against him in his ongoing legal case.<\/p>\n
