Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog surprised crowds when they interrupted host Hugh Bonneville<\/a> in a sketch that came halfway through his presenting segment of the Sunday (07.05.23) night concert on the East Lawn of Windsor Castle\/<\/p>\n

Lip reader Jacqui Press told MailOnline\u2019s Femail section Prince William, 40 and Princess Katherine, 41, revelled in the muppets\u2019 gags, saying Kate told their children Prince George, nine, and Princess Charlotte, eight: \u201cThat\u2019s funny!\u201d<\/p>\n

The royal couple\u2019s youngest child, Prince Louis, five, stayed home as it was past his bedtime.<\/p>\n

Miss Piggy and Kermit were seen walking up to \u2018Downton Abbey\u2019 star Hugh, 59, and told him they were looking for their seats, claiming they were expected in the royal box by \u201cKing Charlesy-warsley\u201d.<\/p>\n

\nMiss Piggy was ecstatic to meet a \u201creal lord\u201d and suggested she could become his Lady.<\/p>\n

\nShe then said she couldn\u2019t believe she didn\u2019t live in a castle, with Hugh calling her a \u201cpig in a dress\u201d.<\/p>\n

\nOther much-loved characters who popped up during the show included Winnie the Pooh and Piglet, who starred discussing the king\u2019s love of red squirrels in a cartoon.<\/p>\n

\nThe bear said: \u201cChristopher Robin told me His Majesty loves red squirrels so much he sometimes gives them names and lets them into his house.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cI believe the squirrels are rather fond of His Majesty too.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nOther collaborations included maestro Andrea Bocelli and Sir Bryn Terfel, who sang \u2018You\u2019ll Never Walk Alone\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
