Danica Patrick<\/strong><\/a> is looking back at her relationship with Aaron Rodgers<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n If you were unaware, the 43-year-old former racecar driver and the 41-year-old pro football player dated from January 2018 to July 2020<\/a>.<\/p>\n In a new interview, Danica<\/strong> claimed that her relationship with Aaron<\/strong> was \u201cemotionally abusive.\u201d <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span>While appearing on The Sage Steele Show<\/a><\/em>, Danica<\/strong> was asked to share \u201cthe most amount of pain\u201d she\u2019s experienced in her life, and she said, \u201cThe breakup with Aaron in 2020.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cBecause it was sudden, it felt like. It was my life. So like when you live with somebody, it\u2019s your whole life,\u201d Danica<\/strong> explained. \u201cAnd because the nature of the relationship was emotionally abusive, so that wore me down to nothing.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cPeople could never imagine that I would lack \u2026 any confidence or belief in the simple things about who I am. Everything was torn to bits,\u201d she continued. \u201cYeah, he leaves a trail of blood. I don\u2019t think I\u2019m saying too much earth-shattering stuff after we \u2014 there\u2019s been enough out there.\u201d <\/p>\n Sage<\/strong> then asked Danica<\/strong> if she had known \u201cat the time\u201d that the relationship was \u201cemotionally abusive,\u201d or whether she realized it \u201cin hindsight\u201d after she \u201crecovered and [had] gotten to know\u201d herself again. <\/p>\n \u201cHindsight, I ignored it, but in real life, it was just like I just feel like \u2014 I would say all the time, \u2018I\u2019m built for hard things. I can handle hard things,\u2019\u201d Danica<\/strong> answered. \u201cAnd so I just saw it as a hard thing.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd my nature is to try harder and do more,\u201d she continued. \u201cAnd I was like, \u2018What if I don\u2019t do it for the right person?\u2019 Like what if I just get a stick up my a\u2013 about this and get too proud and go like, \u2018You know what, I\u2019m just done.\u2019 Instead of going, \u2018Man just try a little harder because what if you look back and wish you would have tried?\u2019 Like I would never want that in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n Danica<\/strong> explained that she tried to keep her relationship with Aaron<\/strong>, she has no regrets about how it all happened and ended because she said she knows \u201cthat everything leads to the next thing.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cBut it gave me the greatest gift, the greatest gift, which is myself,\u201d she said. \u201cIt gave me the greatest gift of how much I needed to show up for myself and take care of myself.\u201d<\/p>\n Just recently, Aaron<\/strong>\u2018s ex-fiancee Shailene Woodley<\/strong><\/a> shared some rare comments about their relationship<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
