\t\t<\/p>\n Daniel Kyri<\/strong><\/a> and Jake Lockett<\/strong><\/a> will be both leaving Chicago Fire<\/em><\/a> this season, and fans are still so devastated by this news.<\/p>\n Daniel <\/strong>joined the show in season 7 as Firefighter Darren Ritter in a recurring role before getting promoted to the main cast two seasons later. Jake <\/strong>has been on Chicago Fire as Sam Carver since season 11. He too started in a recurring role and got bumped up to series regular for season 13.<\/p>\n Now, showrunner Andrea Newman<\/strong> is speaking out about the cast exits.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n She told TV Line<\/a>, \u201cOur characters have always \u2014 and this is the luxury of 13 seasons \u2014 but a bunch of them have come and gone and come back. There\u2019s still so much to be figured out with those two and those characters. We love the actors, we love the characters, and we want to give them some good, surprising moments and goodbyes, and then maybe hellos later down the line.\u201d<\/p>\n About Jake <\/strong>and Daniel <\/strong>leaving, she shared, \u201cThere weren\u2019t a lot of creative decisions behind [the departures], because it all became this, like, axe falling across the network,\u201d she said, alluding to the budget cuts<\/a> that are the alleged reason behind the exits.<\/p>\n \u201cWe love these characters and could play with them forever,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s always fun in bringing somebody new in, as well, and you have to shake these things up. And Pascal is the best example of that, because Pascal came in this year and kind of turned everybody spinning. It wasn\u2019t just that character in the room, it was how everybody else reacted to him that was fun to play.
