Dr. Procter will also be back on-camera, helping the four friends \u2013<\/span> Vannessa Cross<\/strong>,\u00a0Meghan Crumpler<\/strong>,\u00a0Tina Arnold<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Ashely Sutton \u2013 <\/span><\/strong>meet their weight loss goals. In the sneak peek for the upcoming season, Dr. Procter was seen interacting with Meghan Crumpler<\/strong>, one of the pals in question and among the patients he works with.<\/p>\n Meghan, who was hesitant to return to his office for fear that he\u2019d see her weight loss as a failure, was clearly disturbed throughout the teaser clip. Though he acknowledged her 200-lb weight loss journey, Dr. Procter relayed his concerns as Meghan had not attended any follow-up appointments with his office\u2019s after-care program since her bariatric surgery. When he asked her about it, she responded, \u201cThis is exactly why I didn\u2019t want to come.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cOne of my main goals with Meghan has been trying to get her to take ownership of her own health care,\u201d Dr. Procter told the camera in a confessional. Season 2 of\u00a01000-Lb Best Friends\u00a0<\/em>is set to premiere on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at 10 p.m. ET\/PT on TLC.<\/p>\n \u201cBariatric surgery is a wonderful field because it is technically challenging and gives me the opportunity go on an amazing journey with my patients,\u201d he previously told TLC, adding, \u201cTo see someone\u2019s life make such a radical change in a positive direction over and over again is the best job in the world!\u201d<\/p>\n The reality star\u2019s doctor dad talked his son into following in his footsteps and personally trained him in the specifics of bariatric surgery. \u201cGrowing up with my father as a surgeon, I saw the long hours he worked and told myself I would never do that,\u201d he shared during an episode of Family By the Ton<\/em>. But once he was in college, Dr. Procter found himself drawn towards the medical profession.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cTowards the end of my training, I thought I wanted to become a trauma surgeon.
