Casting for the upcoming Buffy the Vampire Slayer<\/em><\/a> revival just started, with Ryan Kiera Armstrong<\/strong><\/a> cast as the new teen lead. Sarah Michelle Gellar<\/a> <\/strong>added to the suspense, after she exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> there are a few familiar names on the audition roster.<\/p>\n

In Gellar and former Buffy<\/em> costar Alyson Hannigan<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s joint interview with Us Weekly<\/em> to promote GSK\u2019s Ask2BeSure<\/a> campaign, Hannigan (who played Willow on all seven seasons of the original series) excitedly revealed, \u201cI know somebody who auditioned for something on the show.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gellar, who played the titular vampire slayer from 1997 to 2003, gave Us<\/em> an even juicier tease: \u201cI know somebody who was on the show whose child auditioned on the show. I know a few people from the show whose children came in.\u201d<\/p>\n

The revelation shocked Hannigan, 51, who immediately wondered if she knew any teenagers trying out for the Buffy<\/em> reboot, which does not yet have a premiere date. \u201cIt better not have been one of my kids!\u201d Hannigan said with a laugh.<\/p>\n

The How I Met Your Mother<\/em> alum shares daughters Satyana, 16, and Keeva, 12, with husband Alexis Denisof<\/strong>,<\/a> whom she met on the set of Buffy<\/em> season 3. \u201cSomebody had a crush, and she fell hard,\u201d Gellar, 48, recalled.<\/p>\n

Hannigan added, \u201cOh yeah, and he wouldn\u2019t date me, by the way!\u201d<\/p>\n

Denisof, who played Wesley, initially had concerns about being romantically involved with a coworker \u2014 and he wasn\u2019t the only one who thought their relationship would be a bad idea. Anthony Stewart Head<\/strong>, who played Giles, gave similar advice.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember Anthony Stewart Head saying \u2014 because at this point Alexis was on [the spinoff] Angel \u2014 and so it was so obvious that we needed to decide whether or not this was going to be something,\u201d Hannigan said. \u201cSo I went to Tony and I was like, \u2018Should we go on a date?\u2019 He\u2019s like, \u2018Absolutely not. It will ruin your friendship. You guys are too good. Do not date him.\u2019 So on the big anniversaries, I\u2019m like, \u2018Hey Tony, thanks for the advice.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Denisof and Hannigan married in 2003, but Gellar wasn\u2019t too surprised.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo you know this has happened to me numerous times?\u201d Gellar shared with Us. \u201cBecause there was also another girl that had a similar, very hard crush on someone that I watched. It was Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. And I watched Kelly the day that she met Mark, and she came running and she\u2019s like, \u2018there is the hottest guy.\u2019 And he was like, \u2018No, not where I work.\u2019 So, usually, I know how that ends.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tEverett Collection Sarah Michelle Gellar has admitted that developing a revival of Buffy The Vampire Slayer has been \u201coverwhelming.\u201d \u201cIt\u2019s heartwarming and exciting and also incredibly nerve-wracking at the same time,\u201d Gellar, 47, told People at the Makeup Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards on Saturday, February 15. The actress confirmed earlier this month that [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Meanwhile, Gellar married Freddie Prinze Jr<\/strong>.<\/a> in 2002, and they share children Charlotte, 15, and Rocky, 12. It\u2019s not easy to stay friends for nearly 30 years, but the actresses say understanding helps.<\/p>\n

\u201cMoms understand that friendship doesn\u2019t mean I have to call you every single day,\u201d Gellar explained. \u201cThere\u2019s never a crisis time in my life that there isn\u2019t a text from Alyson. I don\u2019t mean that in a bad way. That\u2019s how you maintain a friendship: by knowing the things that [matter]. We don\u2019t miss birthdays. We don\u2019t miss the big ones. Those moments, that\u2019s why a friendship lasts a long period of time. It\u2019s not about being able to make the time every day or once a week to do an exercise class. It\u2019s about when you\u2019re on Dancing with the Stars, I couldn\u2019t be there in person. I want to be there emotionally, texting you after every episode, making sure people vote.\u201d<\/p>\n

And if they do miss a birthday? \u201cIt doesn\u2019t lessen what we\u2019ve had \u2014 a lifetime of experience together,\u201d Hannigan added.<\/p>\n

Their latest experience is trying to prepare their kids to take charge of their health and be aware of meningitis.<\/p>\n

\u201cSarah and I are very happy to be partnered up with GSK to raise an awareness for Ask2BSure, which is a health campaign to bring awareness to the meningococcal disease, which is also known as meningitis, which is an uncommon but very serious illness that can have some very life-altering complications, including death even, and sometimes as fast as within 24 hours,\u201d Hannigan said.\u201cSo Ask2BeSure encourages parents to go to their kids\u2019 doctors and to ask about meningitis vaccination, because there\u2019s just so much that you\u2019re balancing as a parent and things can slip through the cracks.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Ask2BSure campaign raises awareness for parents and teens to know what questions to ask. \u201cOur kids are teenagers and this is that transitional period where we\u2019re really trying to teach them to advocate for their health,\u201d Gellar said, noting people from ages 16 to 23 are at increased risk for meningitis.<\/p>\n

Gellar continued, \u201cWhat I really loved about the website was it wasn\u2019t about fear mongering, it was about answering questions about this very serious illness. And I don\u2019t think I was aware of the statistics that one in 10 people who get it will die or probably will die. Or that one in five who survive can have life-altering complications, like loss of limb [or] brain damage.\u201d<\/p>\n
