The 2025 Cannes Film Festival<\/strong><\/a> hosted the world premiere of The Phoenician Scheme<\/em><\/strong> at the Grand Th\u00e9\u00e2tre Lumi\u00e8re on Sunday (May 18) in Cannes, France.<\/p>\n The latest film from director Wes Anderson<\/strong><\/a> features a star-studded cast ensemble, following his Asteroid City<\/em> in 2023 and The French Dispatch<\/em> in 2021.<\/p>\n Stars of the film, including Michael Cera<\/strong><\/a>, Riz Ahmed<\/strong><\/a>, Benicio del Toro<\/strong><\/a>, Rupert Friend<\/strong><\/a>, Mia Threapleton<\/strong><\/a>, Jeffrey Wright<\/strong><\/a>, Benedict Cumberbatch<\/strong><\/a>, Charlotte Gainsbourg<\/strong><\/a>, Antonia Desplat<\/strong><\/a>, and Bill Murray<\/strong><\/a>, were all in attendance. <\/p>\n Stella Maxwell<\/strong><\/a>, Alexander Skarsgard<\/strong><\/a>, Daisy Edgar-Jones<\/strong><\/a>, Charlotte Le Bon<\/strong><\/a>, Julianne Moore<\/strong><\/a>, Edward Norton<\/strong><\/a>, Shia LaBeouf<\/strong><\/a>, Alba Rohrwacher<\/strong><\/a>, Jeremy Strong<\/strong><\/a>, and Halle Berry<\/strong><\/a> were all in attendance as well.<\/p>\n Here\u2019s a plot summary of the black comedy, via Deadline<\/a>: The Phoenician Scheme<\/em> follows \u201cthe complex relationship between the immensely wealthy and powerful armaments and aviation magnate Zsa-zsa Korda (Benicio del Toro<\/strong><\/a>), considered one of Europe\u2019s richest men, and his only daughter, Sister Liesl (Mia Threapleton<\/strong><\/a>), a nun.
