\u201cMy sister turned me on to Tate and her music a few years ago and I\u2019ve been a fan ever since. She is a true pop star, a prolific songwriter and is also an extremely underrated vocalist. We have known each other for a couple years and have been talking about doing a song together if the right one came about,\u201d he told Billboard<\/i>.<\/p>\n
Their song wasn’t originally intended to be a duet, \u201cbut after listening to it a few times, she kept coming to my mind as someone that would really give the song a dynamic element that I felt it deserved,\u201d he said. He claims he’s always wanted to have duet with a woman, but was very “selective.”<\/p>\n
Wallen previously admitted to being turned down by several artists: \u201cI\u2019ve reached out to a couple of people, and they\u2019ve turned me down. I just really want certain people, and I haven\u2019t gotten the chance to do it yet. I\u2019m going to keep trying to write songs for it or write with them.\u201d He didn’t want to name names.<\/p>\n
