The 40-year-old star – who previously underwent a gastric sleeve operation – slammed society for being “fat-phobic” and hit out at the “insane” criticism she has received and constant comments on her weight, even if people tried to frame their remarks as a compliment.<\/p>\n
Appearing at the Inaugural Beacher Vitality Happy + Healthy Summit at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles on Saturday (10.05.25), People magazine reports she said: “We live in a fat-phobic world.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have been a drug addict, an alcoholic \u2026 I\u2019ve been a complete mess, disrespectful to people, horrible \u2014 but I got more s*** for being fat than I did for anything else. It\u2019s insane.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou\u2019ll never read an article about me that hasn\u2019t got a comment about my weight…<\/p>\n
\n\u201cPeople [would] say, \u2018You\u2019re so pretty. Why don\u2019t you just lose a little bit of weight, and then you\u2019ll be the total package.’ “<\/p>\n
\nKelly – who has two-year-old son Sidney with partner Sid Wilson – noted she had “tried everything” over the years to lose weight, but she could only make real changes when in the right mental space.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cI tried probably everything that there is out there, whether it be surgery, medication, diet and exercise.<\/p>\n
\n“I got my mind where I needed it to be, and everything started to fall into place.”<\/p>\n
\nShe also noted: \u201cIt\u2019s not just as simple as change your diet and move. You have to change your brain. You have to come to peace and acceptance about where you are in your life before you can start.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nKelly previously revealed she had undergone a gastric sleeve operation to lose weight, and later insisted she was “proud” to have slimmed down that way.<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking on the ‘Hollywood Raw’ podcast in 2021, she said: “I had surgery; I don’t give a f*** what anyone has to say. I did it, I’m proud of it, they can suck s***. I did the gastric sleeve. All it does is change the shape of your stomach. I got that almost two years ago. I will never ever ever lie about it ever. It is the best thing I have ever done.<\/p>\n
\n“The kind of surgery I had \u2026 if you don’t work out and you don’t eat right, you gain weight. All it does is move you in the right direction.”<\/p>\n
