Kody Brown<\/strong><\/a> detailed his own emotional rollercoaster on Sister Wives<\/em><\/a> following the death of his son Garrison Brown<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cGrief hits you in waves. When it hits me, I can\u2019t run from it,\u201d Kody, 56, explained during the Sunday, May 11, episode of the TLC series, which was filmed roughly four months after Garrison died by suicide<\/a> in March 2024 at age 25.<\/p>\n

Kody revealed, \u201cIf I cry it out, or if I sob it out, I can cut it short, but when that wave comes, I cannot prevent it from affecting me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kody and ex-wife Janelle Brown<\/strong><\/a> announced their son\u2019s passing<\/a> in March 2024 and later celebrated his life with a family funeral. The former couple, who split in December 2022, share five additional children<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In addition to a military funeral for Garrison, Kody set out on his own \u201cpilgrimage\u201d to his birthplace of Wyoming<\/a> to put his son to rest near family. Janelle\u2019s ancestors are also buried in the area, and she said on Sunday\u2019s episode, \u201cI want to be buried right next to Garrison\u201d when her time comes.<\/p>\n

Kody, meanwhile, made it clear he wanted to take Garrison \u201chome\u201d and bury his ashes \u201cnext to his grandma and his grandpa and, you know, just kind of \u2026 finish the circle.\u201d He noted, \u201cI was the first one that held him. This is my son. I rocked him to sleep. This is part of my mourning process.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kody began to tear up<\/a> thinking about Garrison\u2019s final resting place and their unfinished business. \u201cSometimes out of the blue, out of the blue, it\u2019ll overcome me. Almost, like, some kind of anxiety attack,\u201d he revealed. \u201cJust a deep, overwhelming feeling that I\u2019ll never see him again.There\u2019s so much left unsaid, so much left undone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kody and Garrison were on the outs<\/a> prior to his death after Kody enforced strict guidelines for the family during the coronavirus pandemic. Kody also butted heads with son Gabriel Brown<\/strong> over the same issue.<\/p>\n

\u201cGarrison\u2019s poster will always be in my garage, and I always will always see it and wonder what was missed in the future that would have been,\u201d Kody continued. \u201cAnd it\u2019s a game of consciousness to move with grief, to make your blood sweet instead of bitter from the pain.\u201d<\/p>\n

Janelle, for her part, went to the Flagstaff, Arizona<\/a>, High Country Humane Society during Sunday\u2019s episode to see how they honored Garrison and his love of cats<\/a>. She noted that Garrison\u2019s nursing school friends wanted to pay tribute to him, so she suggested donating to the animal society in his name and it \u201csnowballed\u201d from there.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSister Wives star Janelle Brown got emotional over the support she received following son Garrison\u2019s unexpected death. \u201cI have been brought to tears again. I\u2019m being told about everyone\u2019s donations to @highcountryhumane @arkcatsancutary in Garrison\u2019s name,\u201d she captioned an Instagram post on Tuesday, March 12. \u201cThank you for all your generosity. It means so much. [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The local organization, where Garrison adopted his animals, named their cat adoption room<\/a> after him with a commemorative plaque.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince his passing, $25,000 [has] been raised for High Country Humane for the cats,\u201d a High Country Humane worker revealed. \u201cIn addition to the room naming, we also sponsored all of the cat adoption fees in Garrison\u2019s name in March. And we did 36 cat adoptions in honor of Garrison.\u201d<\/p>\n
