Below Deck<\/em><\/a> and its spinoff series have never failed to bring the drama to Bravo fans everywhere since the franchise launched.<\/p>\n The original series premiered in July 2013, documenting the daily lives of crew members<\/a> on luxurious yachts during charter season. At the time, Bravo revealed that the first season averaged over 1 million viewers per episode, making it a simple decision to branch off into two more series: Below Deck Mediterranean<\/em> and Below Deck Sailing Yacht<\/em>.<\/p>\n With each season, the crew members\u2019 personal lives have begun to cross over into their work lives, leading to shocking reality TV romances, breakups, firings and dramatic exits. In February 2020, longtime Below Deck<\/em> personality Kate Chastain<\/strong><\/a> announced that she would finally be heading back to dry land<\/a> after six seasons on the ocean.<\/p>\n \u201cAfter many months of reflection and internal discussions, I have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new land based role. I intend to step back as a senior member of the Below Deck Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support His Majesty Andy Cohen,\u201d she teased via Instagram<\/a> as she stepped down from her position as part of reality TV royalty.<\/p>\n Seven months later, Chastain admitted that she might not be ready to say goodbye<\/a> to Bravo forever.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t know that I would like to do a show like Summer House,\u201d she told Decider<\/em><\/a> during a September 2020 tell-all interview. \u201cI would love to be a New York Housewife because of Sonja [Morgan]<\/strong><\/a> alone. Sonja is a national treasure to be protected at all costs. I want to just be Sonja\u2019s intern for a day. That is on my bucket list. I need the full experience. I love her so much, I would do that.\u201d<\/p>\n The TV personality continued to appear on the network when she joined Bravo\u2019s Chat Room<\/em> in September 2020. \u201cIt just feels like I\u2019m FaceTiming with three of my girlfriends<\/a>,\u201d she exclusively told Us Weekly one month after the show\u2019s premiere. \u201cYachting was a big part of my life for a long time and I enjoyed everything that came with it \u2026 but I definitely am enjoying land life.\u201d<\/p>\n After one season alongside\u00a0The Real Housewives of Potomac<\/em><\/a>\u2018s Gizelle Bryant<\/strong><\/a>, The Real Housewives of Atlanta<\/em><\/a> star Porsha Williams<\/strong><\/a> and Summer House<\/em><\/a>\u2018s Hannah Berner<\/a>, <\/strong>Chastain parted ways with the series.<\/p>\n The Below Deck<\/em> alum later clarified what led to her decision to move on from the short-lived talk show. \u201cI didn\u2019t really feel like explaining my reason for leaving Bravo\u2019s Chat Room<\/em> immediately after I left because I just felt like if I told the truth about why I left, people would assume I was just giving an excuse, but truth does always eventually come out,\u201d she shared with\u00a0Us\u00a0<\/em>in May 2021. \u201cSometimes it happens quicker than you think it\u2019s going to.<\/p>\n Chastain added: \u201c[Bravo has] been very wonderful and generous to me, and they handled the situation the way that was best for me, and I\u2019m really thankful for that.\u201d<\/p>\n
