Ryan Phillippe<\/strong><\/a> is proud of his son Deacon<\/strong><\/a> as he plays his brother in a new show. <\/p>\n In the upcoming series Motorheads<\/strong><\/a><\/em>, Ryan<\/strong> plays a former NASCAR mechanic named Logan, whose brother Christian disappeared 17 years go. As for Deacon<\/strong>, he plays young Christian in flashback scenes. <\/p>\n In a recent interview, Ryan<\/strong> gave details about working with his son on set. <\/p>\n \u201cIt was the showrunner\u2019s idea. He came up to me and said, \u2018We\u2019re thinking about offering the role of Christian in flashbacks to your son.\u2019 I was like, \u2018wow.\u2019 And internally I\u2019m like, \u2018please!\u2019 I wanted it, but I wanted to play it very cool and let them work it out, separate of me. I said, \u2018Well, then offer it to him, and see what he thinks.\u2019 And then Deacon<\/strong> said he wanted to \u2013 what a joy,\u201d he told The New York Post<\/a><\/em>. <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe didn\u2019t have scenes together, but he was playing my brother. And so, we sat in a room with John<\/strong> the showrunner \u2026 and talked about what our childhood would have been like growing up \u2013 which is such a unique thing to have with your son,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n He continued, \u201cI was there on set for him for a lot of his initial work days, just to kind of show him the ropes, and let him know how things typically go, or if he had any questions. I was there for his first night shoot, watching him be bleary-eyed at three in the morning. So, it did feel like a shared experience, even though we weren\u2019t on-screen together.\u201d <\/p>\n Ryan<\/strong> shares Deacon<\/strong> with ex-wife Reese Witherspoon<\/strong><\/a>. Motorheads<\/em> is Deacon<\/strong>\u2018s second major television acting role, as he also appeared in Never Have I Ever<\/em>. Currently, he is enrolled in New York University. <\/p>\n \u201cIt was \u201cgratifying for me to have Deacon<\/strong> come up off and on throughout the production and just to get to spend that time together. The fact that we would get to live together for a few days here and there during the making of the show was really awesome,\u201d Ryan<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s a very sharp kid. I get advice from him often! He grew up around [the TV and film industry] too, with his mother and with me. It\u2019s not like he\u2019s walking into a foreign situation. Our kids spend time on sets. And, I\u2019m enjoying seeing him grow into it, and own it,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n In the interview, Ryan<\/strong> said that he chose not to be present while Deacon<\/strong> kissed a girl for a scene.
