Angela Bassett<\/strong><\/a> is still not over her costar Peter Krause\u2019<\/a>s<\/strong> character Bobby Nash being killed off<\/a> on 9-1-1.<\/em><\/p>\n

Speaking to People<\/em> <\/a>in an interview published on Thursday, May 8, Bassett, 66, admitted she was still grieving the shocking TV death.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m in mourning,\u201d Bassett, who played Nash\u2019s wife Athena,<\/a> told the outlet. \u201cI\u2019m so sorry. I\u2019m so sorry. It wasn\u2019t my choice. I don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress then shared a message to the show\u2019s fans, telling them: \u201cKeep hope alive. Maybe he\u2019ll return in my dreams, you know, my memories.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAngela Bassett couldn\u2019t believe that she\u2019d have to say goodbye to her 9-1-1 TV husband, Peter Krause. This post contains spoilers for the latest episode of 9-1-1. Not only was Bassett, 66, in disbelief that Krause\u2019s Bobby Nash would get killed off, but she thought it\u2019d be more likely that her character, Athena Grant, wouldn\u2019t [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Krause\u2019s character, Captain Nash, died in a gripping two-part episode<\/a> of the drama, which aired on April 17, after contracting a deadly virus. In the ultimate hero move, Nash sacrificed himself<\/a> to save his colleague Howard \u2018Chimney\u2019 Han (Kenneth Choi<\/strong>)\u00a0 who was also infected with the rare virus, after they got their hands on the vaccine \u2014 but the dose was only enough to save one of them.<\/p>\n

Before his death, Nash had just enough time to say a heartfelt goodbye to Athena in tear jerking scenes. Athena, Chimney and the rest of the 118 are now dealing with the aftermath of Nash\u2019s death<\/a> in subsequent episodes of the show.<\/p>\n

Basset previously shared her disbelief<\/a> that Krause\u2019s time on the series had come to an end, which was particularly unexpected given the actor had been front and center since 9-1-1\u2019s inception in 2018.<\/p>\n

\u201cTim [Minear,<\/strong> the showrunner] did pull Peter first and let him know. Then he pulled me and he gave me a call and was like, \u2018OK, Angela, this is a big change in the season. We gotta do something really dramatic \u2014 and someone\u2019s going to die,\u2019\u201d Bassett told The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> in an interview published after the episode aired. \u201cAnd then there\u2019s a pause, of course. And I said, \u2018Is it \u2026 Athena? Is it me?!\u2019 He was like, \u2018No.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Bassett recalled she continued to speculate which actor and their character were no longer going to be on the show, but the idea of Krause didn\u2019t even occur to her.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think finally, after about three or four names, I was like, \u2018What?!\u2019 \u2014 because it was inconceivable to me that it was Bobby,\u201d Bassett said. \u201cIt was incredulous to me that it was Bobby, so it was just very surprising. Sometimes, you\u2019re just struck dumb \u2014 and that\u2019s one of those moments because their bond has been so wonderful and so strong these past four or five years. I didn\u2019t see that coming. None of us saw that coming.\u201d<\/p>\n
