The sequel released on May 1 on Prime Video.<\/p>\n<p>Blake portrays a fashion PR director, Emily Nelson. <\/p>\n<p>However, she also plays some other characters. This is where spoilers come into play, so be warned. This is also where the \u201ccontroversy\u201d emerges.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Another Simple Favor - Official Trailer | Prime Video\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QWajCwdC_TM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The twist that has certain internet denizens riled up is that <em>Another Simple Favor<\/em> features a fictional portrayal of incest.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t worry, the actors involved are not actual siblings in real life. <\/p>\n<p>In fact, Blake Lively portrays Emily Nelson <em>and<\/em> her sister, Charity. (A spoiler, if you have not seen these films, is that her character is a triplet)<\/p>\n<p>There are scenes where, through the wonders of technology and camera angles and more, Emily and Charity passionately kiss. Some folks never watched <em>Game of Thrones<\/em> (and were thus spared from Season 8) due to this <em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/squick\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">squick<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Some responses to Blake Lively\u2019s role in Another Simple Favor were not normal at all. <\/p>\n<p>And, as you can see, some even involved conspiracy theories.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust watched the horrible movie, A Simple Favor where Blake Lively has an incest scene w her sister (played also by Lively) So now 2 incest scenes between this &amp; \u2018White Lotus\u2019 in the past few months. Hollywood is pushing this now. Bunch of lowlifes. Everything coming out of Hollywood is degenerate. If you\u2019re a blissfully offline person who doesn\u2019t spend much of your social time using a screen, this may take some explaining. And no, it still won\u2019t make sense.<\/p>\n<p>There are people online who apply a sort of moral purity culture to the media that they consume. It is up to each individual person to choose whether to engage with a piece of media or to stop watching.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, some of the internet\u2019s loudest denizens espouse a sort of evangelical purity culture when it comes to media. <\/p>\n<p>Fans, writers, and even actors can receive insults, harassment, and even death threats simply for telling an interesting story with a salacious twist. (Or a <em>boring <\/em>story with a salacious twist! That\u2019s always an option!)<\/p>\n<p>As for making all of this Blake Lively\u2019s problem?
