Marvel has revealed that the asterisk in Thunderbolts*<\/em><\/a> exists because the team is actually *The New Avengers<\/em><\/a>, and Hannah John-Kamen<\/strong> couldn\u2019t be happier \u2014 especially since she loved working with her new teammates. One scene in particular bonded her with fellow New Avengers Florence Pugh<\/strong><\/a>, Lewis Pullman<\/strong> and Wyatt Russell<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a specific scene in the movie where it looks like a team-building exercise,\u201d John-Kamen, 35, exclusively told Us Weekly.<\/em> \u201cBut I remember we did a lot of days of filming on that, and we were all quite physically close to each other.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the new box office blockbuster, various mercenaries \u2014 Ghost\/Ava Starr (John-Kamen), Yelena Belova (Pugh) and John Walker\/U.S. Agent (Russell) \u2014 learn they\u2019ve been hired to kill each other in a subterranean bunker. They meet the mysterious Bob (Pullman), and the four realize they need to work together as a team to escape. They have no choice but to shimmy up an elevator shaft together \u2014 and teamwork isn\u2019t exactly second nature for these lone wolves. The Thunderbolts*<\/em> actors, however, had a little more fun.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe ended up playing games. We sat, we sang, we played I Spy With My Little Eye. We played, the name of the game is Snaps. I mean, that was just fun. That\u2019s what I mean: We\u2019re just actually, naturally bonded, us all together. And we really found fun and joy in the time when we weren\u2019t filming.\u201d<\/p>\n

John-Kamen said both pre-production rehearsals and shooting on location in the desert really brought the stars together.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt felt like we were all out and we were on a school trip,\u201d she told Us<\/em> with a laugh. \u201cWe were kind of released into the wild of Utah, like Moab. That was just amazing. It really was gorgeous.\u201d<\/p>\n

While filming at the Marvel soundstages in Atlanta, she noted that Marvel stars stay in various parts of the city \u2014 so off-hours bonding isn\u2019t a guarantee. \u201cWhereas in Utah, we all stayed in the same place, so we\u2019re all doing dinners and we\u2019re all having fun and spending a lot of time together by the pool and all that,\u201d she explained. \u201cYeah, that was my favorite time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tFlorence Pugh is one of the biggest stars in show business right now, and when you look at her filmography, it makes perfect sense. From horror to children\u2019s movies to action, the 29-year-old actress has done it all. Whether you\u2019re excited to see her in Marvel\u2019s Thunderbolts* or just walked out of the theater and [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

John-Kamen also told Us<\/em> that much like Yelena leads the team, Florence captained the cast.<\/p>\n

\u201cHonestly, she\u2019s absolutely amazing,\u201d John-Kamen said of Pugh. \u201cShe really led [the] ship of this movie. She\u2019s incredible and she\u2019s so open.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anyone who has seen John-Kamen and Pugh hype each other up on the red carpet can see that the friendship is real.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s so funny, and she just brought this joy all the time on set, as [a] fellow actor, as a friend. She\u2019s incredible,\u201d John-Kamen gushed. \u201cWe really did bond. Because look, we\u2019re all playing these very, very traumatized, really dark, deep characters, and the organic love that you see really is organically us as well. We really brought that into the movie.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for her character, let\u2019s just say that bonding isn\u2019t as easy for Ava.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe doesn\u2019t think she deserves friendship or she doesn\u2019t deserve people caring about her, or I think she feels like she doesn\u2019t deserve that idea of love and a family \u2019cause she hasn\u2019t ever experienced that,\u201d John-Kamen explained. \u201cLetting her guard down and having that idea of going, \u2018Hang on, actually having someone who can rely on me and maybe I can rely on someone else, maybe that is actually pretty cool. Maybe that is actually something that I don\u2019t have to do alone \u2019cause actually, sometimes, you don\u2019t have to do everything on your own.’\u201d<\/p>\n
