Bill Belichick<\/strong><\/a> gives a special shout-out to his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson<\/strong><\/a>, in his new book, which has already stirred controversy and conversation before its publication.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Belichick, 73 calls Hudson, 24, his \u201cidea mill and creative muse\u201d in The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football, <\/i>according to an advanced copy of the book viewed by The Athletic<\/i><\/a>. The five-word description is reportedly the only mention of Hudson in the book.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football<\/i> will officially be released on Tuesday, May 6.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While Hudson gets a brief mention, Belichick\u2019s book reportedly does not include references to some of the scandalous parts of the coach\u2019s past, including Deflategate<\/a> or the Aaron Hernandez<\/strong> murder trial. Robert Kraft<\/strong>, the owner of the New England Patriots \u2014 where Belichick coached for 24 seasons and won 6 Super Bowls \u2014 is not mentioned by name anywhere in the book.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Belichick and Hudson\u2019s relationship was addressed<\/a> during an interview the former New England Patriots head coach granted to CBS Sunday Morning, <\/i>pegged to the book,<\/i> last month.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During a conversation with journalist Tony Dokoupil<\/strong>, Belichick was asked how he and Hudson met. Hudson, who was sitting off camera, interjected and said, \u201cWe\u2019re not talking about this.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Belichick defended Hudson<\/a>, who he met on a flight in 2021, in a statement released through the University of North Carolina, on Wednesday, April 30.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI was surprised when unrelated topics were introduced, and I repeatedly expressed to the reporter, Tony Dokoupil, and the producers that I preferred to keep that conversation centered on the book,\u201d Belichick said. \u201cAfter this occurred several times, Jordon, with whom I share both a personal and professional relationship, stepped in to reiterate that point to help refocus the discussion.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

CBS responded with a statement of their own<\/a>, saying their interview with Belichick was not presented with any restrictions.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThere were no preconditions or limitations to this conversation,\u201d a CBS spokesperson said on Wednesday. \u201cThis was confirmed repeatedly with his publisher before the interview took place and after it was completed.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
