Kody Brown<\/strong><\/a> and his family reflected on son Garrison Brown<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s death during the recent episode of Sister Wives<\/em><\/a> \u2014 and pondered what\u2019s next without him.<\/p>\n

\u201cGrief comes in waves. It just wasn\u2019t supposed to be this way. You know what I\u2019m saying?\u201d Kody, 56, said during the Sunday, May 4, episode of the TLC series, which is the first time the family addressed Garrison\u2019s death<\/a> on camera. \u201cIt\u2019s just heartbreaking.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kody confessed, \u201cI didn\u2019t get a chance to really just make things right, just not being able to say goodbye.\u201d<\/p>\n

Us Weekly<\/em> confirmed in March 2024 that Garrison died by suicide<\/a> at age 25. He was one of Kody and second wife Janelle Brown<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s six children.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe Sister Wives siblings are continuing to pay tribute to Garrison Brown following his death. Garrison\u2019s sister Maddie Brown was the first to break her silence after his death. \u201cOur hearts [are] broken and we are now swallowed with the love now left behind for this beautiful brother,\u201d she wrote. Garrison\u2019s parents, Janelle and Kody [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Kody, who separated from Janelle, 55, in December 2022, revealed on the episode that he doesn\u2019t know \u201cwhat to do with his death\u201d because of all the what ifs.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s like I\u2019ve got to do something different because I could have had more time with him, and I thought there would be more time,\u201d he confessed. \u201cEverybody thinks they got more time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kody broke down to his remaining wife, Robyn Brown<\/strong><\/a>, during the episode, asking, \u201cHow am I going to do this? How do I do the rest of my life with every holiday and every birthday?\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cAll the frustration I had over stuff with COVID<\/a> and everything like that, all of a sudden that\u2019s just, like, they\u2019re so unimportant. I\u2019m just sad. Sad about what would have been.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kody butted heads with Garrison and son Gabriel Brown<\/strong><\/a> in 2020 over his strict COVID-19 rules, which created a rift between him and the boys. Since his death, Kody said he made it his mission to get Garrison\u2019s ashes back to Wyoming, where most of his extended family is buried.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a pilgrimage in a way, just part of the process for me,\u201d Kody explained. \u201cIt\u2019s the only thing I want from it. \u2026 I just want to take his body home and put him in the ground.\u201d<\/p>\n

Garrison\u2019s mom recalled during Sunday\u2019s episode that her son Gabriel was the one who found his brother in his home in Arizona. Janelle explained that after talking with Garrison throughout the day he stopped texting her around 8:30 p.m., so she asked his brothers to check in on him.<\/p>\n

She went to bed and woke up to a call from Gabriel, who told her Garrison was dead. \u201cI don\u2019t know what happened that night he did that because he\u2019s had other nights like this<\/a> where he would drink and then pass out and he would go kind of radio silent, but he\u2019d be back in the morning,\u201d Janelle explained. \u201cI don\u2019t know what happened this time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Janelle noted that Garrison\u2019s drinking became a problem during the coronavirus pandemic and even though he had \u201csupport\u201d and \u201cresources\u201d to get help, he was struggling.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe had anxiety and depression and then he started drinking as a way to sort of soothe that,\u201d she told her sister Carrie<\/strong> during the episode. \u201cAnd then just became the animal he couldn\u2019t get a hold of. We did everything we could. And I know that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kody\u2019s third wife, whom he split from in November 2021, revealed that Janelle\u2019s son Hunter Brown<\/strong> is the one who informed her of Garrison\u2019s death. \u201cHe was sobbing, and I said, \u2018What\u2019s wrong?\u2019 He just said, \u2018Garrison killed himself,\u2019 and I just fell on the floor in the office,\u201d Christine, 53, recalled.<\/p>\n

Christine later recalled the \u201cbeautiful\u201d service they had as a family where she spoke about Garrison as a child. She ended her speech with his favorite movie quote about a dragon that dies and becomes a constellation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe last line is, \u2018When we want to look for him again, we look to the stars.\u2019 And I looked right at [my daughter] Mykelti<\/strong> and said, \u2018To the stars\u2019 [and cried],\u201d she remembered.<\/p>\n

Meri, who was married to Kody from 1990 to 2023, was filming a Sister Wives<\/em> confessional interview when she got multiple calls from her ex-husband. He informed her that Garrison had taken his own life, and she quickly went to see him and later Janelle.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was just this weird, weird, surreal moment,\u201d Meri said of the phone call with Kody, noting that she didn\u2019t believe \u201cone of our kids\u201d would commit suicide.<\/p>\n

After hanging up the phone, Meri said she went to Kody and Robyn\u2019s house and Christine\u2019s daughter Gwendlyn Brown<\/strong><\/a> was there. \u201cShe just came out and she just, like, hung on to me,\u201d Meri said through tears. \u201cOh gosh. I didn\u2019t even know what to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

No.\u2019 I\u2019m just trying to gather the details, trying to figure out what\u2019s going on. I\u2019m trying to be there for him, trying to register the shock myself, trying to register what\u2019s going on myself. He just fell apart.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kody and Janelle\u2019s eldest daughter was one of the children who went on camera<\/a> to discuss her brother\u2019s death. She remembered talking to Janelle on and off that entire day when her mom called her again and broke the news.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was like, \u2018Oh weird, I was just about to call you,\u2019 and she said, \u2018I am driving to Garrison\u2019s house. He committed suicide,\u2019\u201d Maddie told the cameras.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tTLC Christine Brown is still trying to wrap her head around the death of sister wife Janelle Brown\u2019s son Garrison Brown. \u201cEvery photo with Garrison in it is now infinitely more important than ever before,\u201d Christine, 51, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, March 10, reflecting on happier times with Garrison (full name Robert Garrison) after [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She confessed, \u201cThere\u2019s a few moments in your life that I feel like alter your brain chemistry, and I definitely feel like calling siblings that a sibling had died definitely alters your brain chemistry.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maddie added that before his death, she tried to convince Garrison to move to North Carolina near her family. She revealed Garrison was \u201cgetting closer\u201d to agreeing when he died.<\/p>\n

Gabriel, who found Garrison\u2019s body, shared happier moments<\/a> of his brother with the cameras. \u201cGare really was, like, so genuine and he didn\u2019t let on to it a lot, but he always felt a lot deeper than he expressed,\u201d Gabriel revealed. \u201cEveryone in my family knows that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe brought an air of ease. He made an incredible effort to everyone around him to make them comfortable,\u201d Gabriel recalled. \u201cAnd I think that that\u2019s the real mark of a gentleman. And I think that, yeah, I think that Gare did it well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mykelti, who is one of Kody and Christine\u2019s six kids, remembered Garrison<\/a> as \u201ccool\u201d and the \u201cjokester of the family.\u201d She gushed, \u201cHe was hilarious.\u201d<\/p>\n
