Saturday Night Live<\/em><\/a> host Quinta Brunson<\/strong><\/a> had some unexpected guests during her monologue<\/a> on Saturday, May 3, when both Sabrina Carpenter<\/strong><\/a> and Dwyane Wade<\/strong><\/a> made cameo appearances.<\/p>\n

The Abbott Elementary<\/em> creator and star, 35, kicked off her second SNL<\/em> hosting stint by telling viewers that she was proof that \u201cyou can do anything you set your mind to even if people look down on you.\u201d Brunson referenced working at a phone sex line before getting her big break in Hollywood, as well as her struggles with \u201cliterally [being] 4-foot-11.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah, that\u2019s right, I\u2019m short. It\u2019s OK,\u201d she told viewers. \u201cThey even tried to cast me as a kid on Abbott Elementary<\/em> and I wrote that. But I love being short, and I want other short people to know the sky\u2019s the limit. So shorties, tonight, this one\u2019s for us.\u201d<\/p>\n

As she started a musical ode to \u201cbeing short,\u201d Brunson was suddenly joined on stage by Carpenter, 25, while name-checking other short celebrities.<\/p>\n

\u201cSabrina, it\u2019s the real you! What are you doing here?\u201d Brunson asked, with the \u201cEspresso\u201d singer explaining, \u201cI mean, you were talking about being short so I thought I\u2019d stop by!\u201d<\/p>\n

The pair traded a few jokes about the pitfalls of their height, including the way \u201cshort ribs\u201d just taste like regular ribs for the vertically-challenged.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you read short stories, do they feel like novels?\u201d Carpenter asked, to enthusiastic agreement from Brunson.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSabrina Carpenter had a very special guest during her latest Short n\u2019 Sweet Tour stop. Throughout the tour, Carpenter, 25, has established a tradition of arresting audience members for being \u201ctoo hot\u201d before performing her song \u201cJuno.\u201d Celebs including Millie Bobby Brown and Rachel Sennott have been part of the bit, but the pop star [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

SNL<\/em> cast member Marcello Hern\u00e1ndez<\/strong> eventually interrupted the musical routine to point out that standing next to Carpenter and Brunson made him look \u201csuper tall,\u201d before NBA legend Wade, 43, arrived on stage to dwarf all three.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really love being short,\u201d he professed. \u201cI was sitting in the audience watching SNL<\/em> and I heard your song about being short. I feel seen.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Brunson reminded Wade that he is 6-foot-4, the athlete confessed he just \u201creally wanted to be in the song.\u201d From there, Wade joined the trio to finish up their musical monologue.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tStars are dressing to the nines while celebrating five decades of Saturday Night Live. The festivities kicked off on Friday, February 14, with a three-hour homecoming concert and Jimmy Fallon\u2019s live show at New York City\u2019s Radio Music Hall. Two days later, alumni from the NBC variety show and celebrities walked the red carpet before [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Carpenter has been a recurring presence on Saturday Night Live<\/em> throughout its 50th season. Her song \u201cEspresso\u201d was used in the viral hit \u201cDomingo\u201d sketch<\/a> in October 2024 and she later opened SNL<\/em>\u2019s 50th anniversary special in February 2025 by performing the Simon & Garfunkel classic \u201cHomeward Bound\u201d alongside Paul Simon<\/strong>. Also, on the 50th anniversary show, Carpenter joined Pedro Pascal<\/strong>, Bad Bunny<\/strong> and Martin Short<\/strong> for another \u201cDomingo\u201d sketch.<\/p>\n
