The folk-pop artist and activist was best known for two 1995 singles: \u201cI Kissed A Girl,” considered America’s first openly gay Top 20 hit, and “Supermodel\u201d from the ‘Clueless’ soundtrack.<\/p>\n

Musician and activist Jill Sobule died in a house fire this morning in Minneapolis, MN. She was 66 years old.<\/p>\n

The folk artist was best known for her 1995 hit “I Kissed a Girl”, but was also known for her contributions to the Clueless<\/b> and Harriet the Spy<\/b> soundtracks. She was still performing regularly, recently opening for the Fixx, and with a show scheduled for tomorrow night.<\/p>\n

The cause of the fire has not been determined. <\/p>\n
