Three years ago, a group of TikTokers joined NBCUniversal\u2019s new initiative aimed at transforming social media influencers into the next generation of TV show creators.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Now, four of these creators are set to launch their original series on Peacock.\u00a0<\/p>\n
According to The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, the shows set to premiere are \u201cThe Warehouse Phase<\/a>,\u201d developed by Charlie Curtis-Beard; \u201cThe Kouncil,\u201d created by Katie Florence<\/a>; \u201cOlder Hotter Wiser\u201d from Serena Kerrigan<\/a>; and \u201cPeople Like Me\u201d from Daren Vongirdner<\/a>.<\/p>\n All shows debut on May 19.\u00a0<\/p>\n It\u2019s fascinating how social media has opened up opportunities for many young, emerging creators in Hollywood, especially as TikTok is increasingly<\/a> dubbed the \u201cnew TV.\u201d One of the most recent TikTok stars<\/a> to land a television role is Boman Martinez-Reid, known for his hilarious impersonations of the Kardashians. More recently, the hottest new series everyone<\/a> was watching was a TikTok show called \u201cGroup Chat,\u201d landing<\/a> its creator on the \u201cToday Show.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
