Jeremy Renner thinks he ‘died’ after his accident<\/p>\n
The 54-year-old actor was lucky to survive after being crushed by the vehicle in January 2023 when he jumped out of the cab to try and save his nephew from being mown down, and now he’s candidly spoken about the aftermath as he waited for emergency responders to get to him.<\/p>\n
In his new memoir ‘My Next Breath’, he wrote: “I know I died – in fact, I’m sure of it.<\/p>\n
“What I felt was energy, a constantly connected, beautiful and fantastic energy. <\/p>\n
“There was no time, place, or space, and nothing to see, except a kind of electric … energy.”<\/p>\n
\nJeremy was waiting around 45 on the ice, with his pulse sinking to 18 beats per minute.<\/p>\n
\nHe recalled: “As I lay on the ice, my heart rate slowed, and right there, on that New Year\u2019s Day, unknown to my daughter, my sisters, my friends, my father, my mother, I just got tired.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAfter about thirty minutes on the ice of breathing manually for so long, an effort akin to doing ten or twenty push-\u00adups per minute for half an hour … that\u2019s when I died.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nJeremy described his experience as “the most profound adrenaline rush” and “tranquil” all at once, as his entire life flashed before his eyes.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: “What came to me on that ice was an exhilarating peace, the most profound adrenaline rush, yet an entirely tranquil one at the same time: electric serenity.<\/p>\n
\n“I could see my lifetime. I could see everything all at once. It could have been ten seconds; could have been for five minutes. Could have been forever.<\/p>\n
\n“Who knows how long? In that death there was no time, no time at all, yet it was also all time and forever.’<\/p>\n
\nAlthough the ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ – who broke 38 bones in his body after being crushed by the snowplough – doesn’t use terms like afterlife, heaven or hell, he did recall what he experienced after death.<\/p>\n
\nHe continued: “All life was grand; all life just got better in death.<\/p>\n
\n“Everything and everyone I love or ever loved in my life was with me.”<\/p>\n
