(AP Photo\/Rick Bowmer, Pool)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cIt was ridiculous,\u201d Paltrow told hosts <strong>Erin<\/strong> and <strong>Sara Foster<\/strong> after the sisters praised her in-court fashion. \u201cAnd I have to say, the idea that somebody could ski into your back and knock you down and then sue you \u2014 I was like, \u2018This is everything that\u2019s wrong with our legal system.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sanderson sought $300,000 in damages from Paltrow in his lawsuit, claiming the accident was a result of negligence that left him with physical injuries and emotional distress. (AP Photo\/Rick Bowmer, Pool)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The lifestyle guru came out on top after an eight-day trial in March 2023, with the jury finding Paltrow not responsible for the alleged \u201chit-and-run\u201d collision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s why I felt like I had to fight it,\u201d Paltrow said on \u201cWorld\u2019s First Podcast.\u201d \u201cI\u2019m not gonna be shaken down here. I\u2019m not doing that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Paltrow was awarded $1 in symbolic damages for her counterclaim in addition to her attorney fees.
