The decision had to be made quickly. And we said, \u2018OK, if we\u2019re really going to go through with this and we\u2019re gonna get married, if we do it this way, we can get the wedding of our dreams. They exchanged in front of ABC cameras in January 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Just three months later, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2024\/11\/theresa-nist-finally-admits-the-truth-behind-gerry-turner-divorce\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the marriage was over<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>At this point, looking back on it, Nist says the relationship feels like it took place in \u201canother world,\u201d although it was a world she embraced at the time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was in love,\u201d she now says. \u201cI really believed this was forever and for the rest of my life. We all thought that. I mean, listen to our wedding vows and what my daughter said and what his daughter said. The couple did not split up due to Turner\u2019s cancer\u2026 nor because they couldn\u2019t figure out where to live.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know if I\u2019ll ever say what the reason was for me,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I will say that it\u2019s really hard to know somebody in that amount of time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd then after the show was over, it was just a whirlwind of excitement and we were caught up in everything and there were interviews and we were going to events. It was also an abbreviated version of The Bachelor. We only had one-hour episodes. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd so the amount of time that I was with him was what you saw on TV.
