Daisy Ridley has insisted she isn’t badly behaved as an actor<\/p>\n
The ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ actress admits she knows some actors behave badly but she insists she’s different because she always “turns up on time”, works hard and knows her lines.<\/p>\n
She told The Independent newspapeR: “I\u2019m not an a*******! That seems like a funny thing to say, but over time, you realise people [in Hollywood] behave really badly. I\u2019m hardworking; I turn up on time; I know my lines; I know where I need to be.”<\/p>\n
Daisy shot to international stardom after landing the lead role in the 2015 ‘Star Wars’ instalment, and she admits it was “stressful” to be catapulted into the spotlight when she was in her early 20s but she feels grateful for the opportunities it gave her.<\/p>\n
She added: “I don\u2019t think it was ‘Star Wars’ itself that caused stress. It was being a 20-year-old who was cast in something that a lot of people watch \u2013 suddenly standing in a spotlight .. <\/p>\n
\n“I don\u2019t think I\u2019ve been pigeonholed. Honestly, I think ‘Star Wars’ has given me choices. It\u2019s why I have the career I have.”<\/p>\n
\nDaisy is set to reprise her role as Rey in another ‘Star Wars’ movie called ‘Star Wars: New Jedi Order’ which has been shrouded in secrecy – and the actress is adamant she’s happy about returning to the sci-fi franchise.<\/p>\n
\nShe added: “Time has not changed how I feel [about ‘Star Wars’]. If I didn\u2019t feel excited by the story, I wouldn\u2019t be doing it.”<\/p>\n
\nDaisy previously opened up about the project in an interview with Collider, saying: “I don’t know if I’d be a producer on it, but certainly I have been very involved. Well, not very involved, but I’m involved in as much as I know what’s going on. <\/p>\n
\n“I know the story. I know what’s going on with the script. So, I’m aware of all of that.” <\/p>\n
\nThe ‘Cleaner’ star added: “What’s been really wonderful over the last few years is being more involved from the start to the finish, is really coming to set knowing this is the absolute best way we can tell this story, these are the best actors for the job, this is the best crew for the job. Having that confidence is so lovely. <\/p>\n
\n“And it’s not that I didn’t have that before, but I’m much more cognizant of it now. So, in that way, I’m looking forward to turning up really knowing the ins and outs and what the journey has been, and we’re arriving at the absolute best place to tell this particular story.”<\/p>\n
