The Real Housewives of Potomac<\/em><\/a>\u2019s Gizelle Bryant<\/strong><\/a> is updating fans on Karen Huger<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s life in prison.<\/p>\n

The Bravo reality star, 54, said on the Sunday, April 27, edition of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen<\/em><\/a> that Karen, 61, is thriving behind bars and is beloved by her fellow inmates and guards at the prison where she is currently incarcerated.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have been in contact with someone that\u2019s very close to her about her safety and all that,\u201d Gizelle shared with host Andy Cohen<\/strong>. \u201cFrom what I understand, they love her up in where she is right now. They absolutely love her. They are loving the Grande Dame! And you know she\u2019s running that thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel very good about the fact that she\u2019s safe,\u201d Gizelle said, adding that Karen\u2019s husband, Ray<\/strong>, 78, \u201cis still adjusting\u201d following Karen\u2019s incarceration.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tUpon Karen Huger\u2019s recent DUI sentencing, many of her fellow Bravo personalities and other stars have shared their thoughts. \u201cI am shook,\u201d Gizelle Bryant said during her February 26 event at City Winery. \u201cThis just happened today. I do not have her wigs. I am concerned. In all seriousness, I am concerned for her safety. [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In February, Karen was sentenced<\/a> to two years in jail with one year suspended, meaning she will be incarcerated for one year. She was ordered to report directly to police custody.<\/p>\n

The sentencing came after the Bravo star, known as the \u201cGrand Dame\u201d of Potomac, was previously charged with a DUI, a DWI and reckless driving after a March 2024 car accident. She was found guilty on nearly all charges<\/a> \u2014 except the count of driving recklessly \u2014 in December 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough we are disappointed in the jury\u2019s verdict, we of course respect their decision and appreciate their time hearing our case,\u201d Huger\u2019s lawyer, A. Scott Bolden<\/strong>, said in a statement to People<\/em> at the time. \u201cWe continue to reserve Mrs. Huger\u2019s right to an appeal and intend to fully pursue justice on her behalf. We appreciate your support and prayers for Mrs. Huger and her family at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n
