Joe Jonas<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about his new single \u201cHeart By Heart<\/a>\u201c!<\/p>\n The 35-year-old Jonas Brothers<\/strong><\/a> singer dropped his latest solo tune on Friday (April 25), and many fans have been raving about the bridge of the song. <\/p>\n \u201cHoldin\u2019 you tight in the back of your car \/ Know that we tried, but we didn\u2019t get far In a new interview, Joe<\/strong> opened up about the writing process for the song (he didn\u2019t write it!) and nailing that now beloved bridge. <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201c[‘Heart By Heart’] was actually pitched to me [by] Savan Kotecha<\/strong>. He wrote it with Lewis Capaldi<\/strong><\/a>, and I just loved the messaging behind it. I really felt connected to it, so we did some tweaks, and I recorded it last year around the summer or fall,\u201d Joe<\/strong> dished to Billboard<\/a><\/em>. \u201cWe held onto the song for a while. It felt like the song I really wanted to be the next single of my album, so I\u2019m positioning it in a way where it speaks to where I\u2019m at in my life and the emotional side of where I\u2019m at. I\u2019ve teased it long enough, so I\u2019m eager for people to hear it.\u201d<\/p>\n On nailing the bridge, Joe<\/strong> shared, \u201cSavan<\/strong> and the whole Max Martin<\/strong><\/a> team are brilliant because they will be very particular about what they want, and that\u2019s always really encouraging. They\u2019ll hear something and be like, \u2018Eh, the diction on this word, etc.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n \u201c[The song] took a few takes, but ultimately, when you connect with anything, it falls together quite quickly,\u201d he continued. \u201cFor me, I thought it was pretty natural to get into the song emotionally. The bridge [took] a few takes, but honestly, the song itself happened quite fast \u2013 all the mixing and that.\u201d<\/p>\n It\u2019s been nearly 14 years since Joe<\/strong>\u2018s first solo album Fastlife<\/em>, and he also spoke to why now was the time for a new solo effort.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s been a minute since I\u2019ve released anything [solo]. The last album that I did by myself, I\u2019m very proud of. There were a lot of cooks in the kitchen at that time in my life. I was surrounded by a lot of people that I just said, \u2018Yes, and\u2019 to,\u201d he said. \u201cNow, knowing who I am, feeling confident, and looking at my life, I\u2019m so grateful for the friends and family I have around me. And I get to do it again 20-something years later, and find creative ways to speak to what I\u2019ve been through. I know the difference of when it\u2019s a [Jonas] Brothers<\/strong> song or a DNCE<\/strong><\/a> song; the music I\u2019ve been making felt really personal. And I selfishly didn\u2019t want to share it with other people.
