Every You<\/em><\/a> fan wanted Jenna Ortega<\/strong><\/a> to reprise her role as Ellie in the show\u2019s fifth and final season \u2014 and in a way she did.<\/p>\n

The last installment of the hit Netflix series, which premiered on Thursday, April 24, revealed that Ortega\u2019s character, Ellie, was Dominique (Natasha Behnam<\/strong>) and Phoenix\u2019s (b<\/strong>) benefactor amid their take down of Joe (Penn Badgley<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

Behnam weighed in on the subtle nod, exclusively telling Us Weekly<\/em> at the Wednesday, April 23, red carpet premiere, \u201cThat was so cool. We were guessing who [that] was because we didn\u2019t even really know in the beginning. Then as the series unfolded itself, we were like, \u2018Oh, this is Jenna Ortega\u2019s character.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

The actress found it \u201creally iconic\u201d to have her character connect back to Ellie. Ortega, 22, previously appeared on season 2 of the hit Netflix series but subsequently found success on Wednesday<\/em>.<\/a><\/p>\n

Before Ortega took over as the moody and spooky teenager, Christina Ricci<\/strong> famously brought the character to life in several Addams Family<\/em> films, which took inspiration from Edward Gorey<\/strong>\u2018s illustrations. Season 2 is expected to be released in multiple parts with the first half on August 6, while part 2 is slated for September 3.<\/a><\/p>\n
