(Photo by Christopher Furlong\/Getty Images)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nOn The Megyn Kelly Show yesterday, the conservative host referenced Pope Francis once saying we should build bridges instead of walls in response to Donald Trump\u2019s plans to keep Mexicans out of the United States.<\/p>\n
He previously said mass deportations also damaged peoples\u2019 dignity and made them vulnerable, citing this practice as a \u201cdisgrace.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kelly accused the Catholic Church of transporting and finding housing for migrants \u201cirrespective of the fact that they\u2019re here illegally\u201d and added: <\/p>\n

(Getty)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cIt\u2019s caused a lot of us in the Catholic Church to wonder what exactly we\u2019re donating toward on Sunday, it really does,\u201d Kelly actually said.<\/p>\n
We\u2019re not sure how many people out there who are donating to the Catholic Church are doing so out of a passion for mass deportations. <\/p>\n
But we\u2019ve found at least one person with this viewpoint, apparently.<\/p>\n
The former Fox News host went directly after the late church leader for \u201cthis tug-of-war going on between the pope\u2019s messaging and what he wanted us to believe were deep Catholic teachings, and what we understand as Americans who are watching our citizens murdered in the streets by these people to be true.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou try to understand how [Francise] could so misunderstand\u201d Trump and the reason why he is \u201cso devoted to getting rid of these people who Pope Francis just looked at as vulnerable and defenseless.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWell you know who is vulnerable and defenseless?\u201d Kelly asked rhetorically. \u201cLaken Riley. \u2026 I wish I could have talked to the pontiff about it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Laken Riley was, indeed, murdered by an illegal immigrant.<\/p>\n

Ironically, however?<\/p>\n
Speaking to reporters at the White House Easter egg roll on April 21, the Commander-in-Chief was asked if he agreed with the Pope\u2019s message of tolerance for migrants, to which he responded: <\/p>\n
\u201cYeah, I do.\u201d<\/p>\n
May Pope Francis rest in peace.
