Bella Ramsey<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about The Last of Us<\/em><\/strong> season 2 after that painful reveal that Joel, played by Pedro Pascal<\/strong><\/a>, is now dead.<\/p>\n About taking over as number 1 on the call sheet, the 21-year-old star, who portrays Ellie, told THR<\/a>, \u201cI would never consider myself a leader. But there\u2019s something that happens when I\u2019m given responsibility where I really like the feeling and I take the responsibility very seriously. I\u2019m very happy to lead a set and have a lot of influence over the tone and dynamic, especially given there\u2019s preconceived ideas about a young person who\u2019s No. 1 on the call sheet.\u201d <\/p>\n In the interview, Bella <\/strong>addressed their thoughts about looking physically different from the video game version of Ellie, plus, two teases about intense scenes to come in the remainder of season 2.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n About physically looking different from video-game Ellie, Bella <\/strong>said, \u201cBut I got quite fixated on the way that Ellie looks in the game and her physical stature and, to be specific, the muscle definition in her arms. And I didn\u2019t look like that. My body type isn\u2019t that. I talked about this a lot with [showrunner Craig Mazin<\/strong>], and he never put that expectation on me. He wanted me to look strong and feel strong, and that was in how I carried myself, my posture and the confidence you have. It was a challenge for me to let myself off the hook for not looking computer-generated.\u201d <\/p>\n About the hate they received over casting, Bella <\/strong>said, \u201cI always knew that I\u2019d [deactivate social media] one day and never even really wanted to have social media in the first place. It wasn\u2019t like this big dramatic thing, but there was an element of it that was thinking about the show coming out for season two. If I just avoid Twitter and Reddit, which now I\u2019m doing, then everything\u2019s totally fine.\u201d<\/p>\n Then, Bella <\/strong>discussed one of their toughest scenes: mourning Joel in the upcoming episode.<\/p>\n \u201cI really struggle with crying in scenes. I can get a tear out, but that\u2019s different than crying.\u201d To get the scene right, Bella<\/strong> said, \u201cI remembered the happiest of memories that I\u2019ve had with Pedro. The thing that is always the saddest to me is remembering the happy things. I was remembering us the first few times we met and shooting season one. I was remembering all of that and through the lens of losing him.\u201d<\/p>\n There\u2019s another very intense scene coming up that showrunner Craig Mazin<\/strong> teased, saying, \u201cI was scared of her, and I didn\u2019t like her, and I didn\u2019t want her to do what she\u2019s doing.
