{"id":162863,"date":"2025-04-18T08:01:00","date_gmt":"2025-04-18T08:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/entertainment.runfyers.com\/index.php\/2025\/04\/18\/matthew-lawrence-regrets-not-listening-to-late-co-star-robin-williams-drugs-warning\/"},"modified":"2025-04-18T08:01:00","modified_gmt":"2025-04-18T08:01:00","slug":"matthew-lawrence-regrets-not-listening-to-late-co-star-robin-williams-drugs-warning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/entertainment.runfyers.com\/index.php\/2025\/04\/18\/matthew-lawrence-regrets-not-listening-to-late-co-star-robin-williams-drugs-warning\/","title":{"rendered":"Matthew Lawrence regrets not listening to late co-star Robin Williams&#8217; drugs warning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"byline\">\n<p>        <time itemprop=\"datePublished\" content=\"2025-04-18\" datetime=\"1744963260\" pubdate=\"\">18 April 2025<\/time>\n    <\/p>\n<p>Matthew Lawrence will &#8220;never forget&#8221; late &#8216;Mrs. Doubtfire&#8217; co-star <a href=\"https:\/\/www.femalefirst.co.uk\/robin-williams\/\" class=\"exposure-link \" data-linktrack=\"LinkTracker,articleExposure,robin-williams\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Robin Williams<\/a>&#8216; advice not to take drugs.<\/p>\n<p>                            <\/p>\n<p class=\"image-caption landscape\">Matthew Lawrence wishes he headed Robin Williams&#8217; drugs warning<\/p>\n<p>The 45-year-old actor appeared opposite the late Hollywood star &#8211; who took his own life August 2014 at the age of 63 &#8211; in the 1993 blockbuster comedy, and in hindsight, he wishes he&#8217;d headed the warning after battling substance abuse.<\/p>\n<p>He told Entertainment Weekly: \u201cHe really explained his life to me and really brought me in and taught me not just about in front of the camera, but a lot about the behind the camera as well, and how he felt that substances really further pushed his brain to not function properly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd he really opened up with me, and I\u2019ll never forget it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There were times he would just grab me, and he\u2019d be like, \u2018Don\u2019t put that stuff in your body. If I could go back and tell myself, this is why I\u2019m telling you, don\u2019t put that stuff in your body.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\nMatthew hailed Robin &#8211; who battled drug and alcohol addiction himself and had a form of Dementia called Lewy body disease &#8211; for his &#8220;compassion&#8221; and &#8220;humility&#8221;, despite battling his own demons.<\/p>\n<p>\nHe said: \u201cHe really quantified what it was to be a real artist for me.<\/p>\n<p>\n&#8220;He was definitely the most brilliant artist I\u2019ve ever worked with.
