Val Kilmer drew the line at a particularly graphic gag while filming the 2010 comedy \u2018MacGruber\u2019<\/p>\n

The \u2018Top Gun\u2019 actor died earlier this month at the age of 65 after a long battle with throat cancer, and his refusal to agree to the joke has now emerged in a chat with the film\u2019s director Jorma Taccone.<\/p>\n

Jorma, 48, told \u2018The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers<\/a> Podcast\u2019: \u201cHe did do the movie \u2013\u00a0there was one joke, though, that he refused to do, which was that we did want to cut his penis off and shove it in his mouth. \u201cThat was the one joke that he did not want to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Even though Val, who starred as villain Dieter Von Cunth in the \u2018Saturday Night Live\u2019-inspired spoof, declined to perform the scene, a version of the joke remained in the trailer. <\/p>\n

In the clip, Will Forte<\/a>\u2019s title character threatens Dieter with the brutal act of violence.<\/p>\n

\nVal, also best known for his performances in films including \u2018Batman Forever\u2019 and \u2018Tombstone\u2019, died on 1 April from pneumonia.<\/p>\n

\n\u2018MacGruber\u2019 was directed by Jorma and co-written by him, Will and John Solomon. <\/p>\n

\nThe three comedians spoke about their collaboration with Val during the \u2018Lonely Island\u2019\u00a0podcast. <\/p>\n

\nWill, 54, described his initial surprise Val had even agreed to join the cast.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cFor people who don\u2019t know the process, we went into the table read not having the role cast,\u201d he said. Will added: \u201cHe was just coming to the table read as a favour, like, not even to any of \u2014 I don\u2019t know who he was doing the favour for because none of us knew him. So we were so excited to have him at this table read.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nJorma added Val had only seen the script for the first time when he turned up to read. <\/p>\n

\n\u201cHe admitted to us afterwards that he read it cold,\u201d he said, adding: \u201cAnd he nailed it. Just absolutely nailed the part.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nPodcast host Seth Meyers, 51, responded to the story by saying: \u201cI think now it\u2019s especially a good decision on his part. I think it would be even harder to talk about him now had you guys made this poor person do this.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nWill, who remained close with Val following the film, also wrote a tribute to him in Vulture on 4 April. <\/p>\n

\nIn the essay, he described him as \u201cjust the most unique person I\u2019ve ever met.\u201d<\/p>\n
