Jessica Capshaw<\/strong><\/a> was \u201cgiddy with excitement\u201d when she went in to audition for season 3 of Mike White<\/strong>\u2019s anthology series, The White Lotus<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/em> alum revealed she auditioned for one of the trio of women \u2014 ultimately played by Michelle Monaghan<\/strong>, Carrie Coon<\/strong> and Leslie Bibb<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 during the Wednesday, April 9, \u201cCall it Short & Sweet<\/a>\u201d segment of her \u201cCall It What It Is\u201d podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cI auditioned for one of those parts,\u201d she told cohost and Grey\u2019s<\/em> costar Camilla Luddington<\/strong>. \u201cI auditioned for Leslie Bibb\u2019s part, and I remember getting the audition and being like, I mean, I\u2019m just such a huge fan of the show, so I was giddy with excitement.\u201d<\/p>\n

Capshaw, 48, went on to say how she enjoyed watching Bibb\u2019s take on the character Kate, who rediscovers the importance of female friendship as she stays at The White Lotus hotel in Thailand with her longtime pals Laurie (Coon) and Jaclyn (Monaghan).<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe White Lotus continues to defy expectations by stacking each season with a star-studded cast. The HBO series, which debuted in 2021, focuses on the guests and employees at a fictional resort as they experience a slew of personal ups and downs while on vacation. The anthology series is also known for a mysterious death [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s always so fun to, you know, put together an audition and see where it goes and then see it come to fruition,\u201d Capshaw said. \u201cBecause what\u2019s unbelievably remarkable and wild about the casting processes and I guess not shocking [is] we\u2019re all very different. We all have a very different take on it. So watching Leslie\u2019s I was like, oh my God, I was so in and I thought she was fantastic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though Capshaw did not land a part in season 3 of White\u2019s hit HBO show, she plans to keep auditioning, noting that it took multiple attempts before she scored her role as Dr. Arizona Robbins<\/a> on Grey\u2019s<\/em> in 2009.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll audition, I\u2019ll keep auditioning. That\u2019s what I did for Grey\u2019s<\/em>,\u201d Capshaw said. \u201cI loved Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/em> and I was like, \u2018I\u2019ll audition all the times!\u2019 And I took three times, so I\u2019m hoping it\u2019ll just take two for Mike White and The White Lotus<\/em>. I\u2019ll just keep going.\u201d<\/p>\n

Luddington, 41, offered to play Capshaw\u2019s sister on a future season, if White, 54, is open to it.<\/p>\n
